Indeed, it is of utmost importance. But keep in mind......Respect is to be earned and not demanded> I disagree. I treat everyone with respect until they do something to lose my respect. You see Ruth.....i was talking from my point of view. I just cannot demand respect from you. But i can earn that respect for my actions. Yes, i agree, that i too treat others with respect, unless they do something otherwise.

very important...mutual respect is important in a relationship for it to be good, otherwise one person or both gets taken advantage of

How important is respect to you? Respect is probably the single most important thing in a relationship, as far as I'm concerned. Many of the pitfalls of relationships can be attributed to a distinct lack of respect, from adultery to much worse. Without respect, there is nothing.
