welp that is another way they screw over the trucker. If your not tarped and the rain begins and you have no choice but to stop at a weight scale than your screwed big time.

I'm just about to cleveland. Gotta run to chardon to pick up another load of golf course sand. Its raining and its most likely gonna be a sticky load. I'm not looking foreward to all this. This may sound dumb but I am going to ask When sand is wet and sticky is it heavier than when its dry? |

I hauled a load of foundry coke from erie pennsylvania to webster south dakota. I had an open top and it rained the whole way. I got to the scalehouse in south dakota weighing 84,000 pounds. They were going to write me a 1300 dollar ticket. I explained the water weight, showed them my weight ticket from erie and they let me go.

Fuel is a significant factor too. Diesel is 8 pounds per gallon. I have 2- 100 gallon tanks. 200 times 8= 1600 pounds of fuel.
