Topic: Who else thinks this site blows?

I've certainly seen successes here, but the train wrecks do seem to outweigh them. Anything in life worth having is usually going to require a risk, and this one is free. In my book, that's a good gamble.

huh

What part of my post did you not understand? what

I understood it perfectly-and congrats to all the successes-flowerforyou

what about the ones who have had their hearts ripped out
and thrown on the mingle room floor?

Someone only has access to your heart if you allow it...it's not the site's fault. Like the Wizard of Oz said: Hearts will only be practical when they can be made unbreakable, my sentimental friend...flowerforyou

no you're right Phuque-it's not the sites fault-but not everyone has success here- just pointing that out to the OP ....flowerforyou

This place DOES seem to have a particularly high oh-god-why-did-i-even-bother-to-go-through-with-this factor as far as the whole online-dating thing goes. Too many freaks, flakes, attention whores, nut-cases, and attention-starved know-it-all princesses with a holier-than-thou mentality to count here. laugh

Right on, Mitch. I've said it many times before: Too many people sign up here expecting the "love of their life" to just fall into their lap, with little to no effort required on their part, like this is some sort of Boyfriend/Girlfriend Store. Finding a compatible partner in everyday life is no picnic, so why should this site be any different (providing you're using this site as a tool for the purposes of which you are intending)?

If more people would see the entire picture, and realize that this is better suited to be a SOCIAL site, with the possibility of bonuses (which is how, for those who are actually looking for a relationship partner are SUPPOSED to do it, regardless of being in real life or on the internet), they would be a lot less disappointed. They're expecting too much. It's like watching a widescreen movie on a standard TV set, and then b!tching because they can't see the whole frame.

Well, maybe it's just me..but i see six pages of support for Mingle2. I have watched these boards for nearly two years, i have seen friendships made, marriages, and as far as i know, all are doing pretty well.

Tom and Merle were married last year, or earlier this year..(correct me if i'm wrong guys) Peccy and southgaangel, many more relationships have been formed here..

Check out these Success Stories

The platform is here, free to use, the website has provided the tools, free of charge, i think that the site deserves a little more respect than the title of this thread. Negativity, will rarely if ever, produce positive results. Just my .02

.02 well spent Mark! I totally agree with you. The tools are here to be used. The possibilities are endless! I think that the OP needs to be a little more active in the forums than just 6 posts in over a year and a half. To me the forums are what makes Mingle the great site that it is. If someone is found, great, if not, well you can't put a pricetag on friendships made, friends that I look forward to hopefully meeting in Aug. at the East Coast Mingle Meet.

okay, you're in charge of marketing! flowerforyou

The intent, of my earlier post, was simply to point out that tools are only as good as you use them. You can buy a brand new garden hoe..but if you leave it in the garden shed, and never use it..then the weeds take over the garden..it's the same thing..can you blame the tool for your not using it?

That is so true Keith so many expect miracles and for them to just happen on there own. If they don't then they are disappointed or try to lay the blame elsewhere.

We are responsible for what we do and how we do it. Life will not always be a bowl of cherries as they say you have to take the pits along the way.

Internet or real life heartbreak happens it only means that you have taken that chance to love someone is that really a bad thing?bigsmile
