Looking at the original post seems like you have your focus off kilter. It doesn't matter if her family thinks you are wonderful or not. She is not into you. She has told you to wait because it is the answer you will accept.

If she told you that she wants to be friends...usually that is what she means, FRIENDS ONLY! If I was you, I would just give her LOTS of space and then make her wonder where you are. Maybe that will wake her up and then she will realize just exactly what her family did see in you. If you keep pushing her..she will run the other way for sure, so be patient and act like you could care less!
