It's truly amazing every time I see it. The most memorable times I have had in AA is when someone walks into the rooms of AA and says, "I'm so-and-so, I'm an alcoholic and an f-up". At this point, their liability has become an asset and he or she helps keep someone with more time at least one more day away from their drug's of choice. I respect how you are handling this situation, and that you have taken responsibility and been completely honest about it. While it's not a promise by itself that you'll move forward and stay sober no matter what, it's a damned good start.

It has been 2059 days since my last drink, and you helped me remember what my early days were like. My experience was quite messy and my home smelled like death because of all of my blood all over the house in large puddles.

God! Sometimes this is so hard....

That is one key thing I have learned from AA. We are all in it together and searching for a common goal. "But for the grace of God and the fellowship of AA.....". I think it is an awesome thing that you have so much time of sobriety and the fact you have it down to the number of days shows some true character. I am honored to call you a friend!!
