Guy I am not going to say I am sorry that you got a DUI or that you have to do the time. I have read some of your posts and I feel you are too valuable a person to let skate for your screw ups and I am glad that your getting help to learn from them. Jail is definitely a tough wake up call but I don't see you being a cry baby about it so I hope it sticks and your future gets brighter. Think that you are being honest about the consequences will help a lot of people. Will try to will you the energy you need to get the most out of this hard lesson. Will look forward to you returning and moving forward in your life. YOU CAN DO IT! Good luck.

Maybe now on this thread is my time to come clean too...

I have fallen into a very deep depression, and am finding it harder to function everyday. Life it seems has become overwhelming for me, and im not quite sure how to deal with it all.

I have an appointment scheduled to see a doctor soon, and hopefully meds will help me...

So Woody, right now its hard for me to focus, I have good and bad days...todays a bad one, plus I have the flu. But you will be in my prayers, and im sure that both of us are gonna be ok.

 I love you babe

I too am suffering from depression..bad!! i'm going to make an appt tomorrow and i pray they take me in..its actually an emergency..i cant feel like this anymore..sucks!!!

I haven't had the pleasure of chatting with you but I wish you well.

From experience I can tell you that the people on Mingle are there for you. I am one of the lucky ones that found that out this past year when I was so ill.

It is now my turn to show to you what has been shown to me. Caring, and love from friends and unknown friends that are there for you when you come back, and while you are gone.

Jim, you did not tell me about this part of things going on.
So much to handle and WAY too much to deal with...I wish that you would have disclosed all that was going on in your life. I would have been there more to talk you through everything.
You know how to contact me. Please feel free and I will help in any way that I am able.
You are a wonderful friend and you are in my prayers! Please know that I will be here for you in any capacity that I can. flowers

I write this thread with a heavy heart. I feel compelled to tell you, my friends, that I screwed up. I got in trouble. I recieved a 2nd dui in July and I am now facing the cosequences of my act. Feb. 4th, I go to jail. Rightfully so. No act like this, that could have cost a family loss, deserves no less such punishment. I am not proud of it. As part of my sentence, I asked for and received acceptance into the DUI court. It is a very strict program. Appearance weekly in court, frequent and random UA's, home inspections, PBT's, curfew...a whole list. I only have 17 days of jail, but this program lasts a minimum of 18 months and the cosequences of failure are extreme. The point I am bringing this up for is that I asked for it to show my committment towards sobriety. I had 6 months sobriety the day before I got pulled over! Yeah! Crazy, huh?
So I started this thread to let you know and to also say that I hope this is still going while I serve my sentence. Your friendship means so much and I always am greatful of feedback. When I get out, this will be the first place i go, and I promise to write back.
A very good person whom I am proud to call my friend, once told me that "It is not important that you have failed or the number of times that you have.....as long as you start again!!" Thank you, luv2roknroll!flowers flowers flowers

If you tell them its an emergency they will take you into the hospital for a 72 hour evaluation. Its a lock up situation though. I actually considered it, but I cant bear to be away from my dog so long...shes my life.

If you make an appointment and wait, you wont get locked down...

I would advise that babe, you dont wanna be locked down do you? I dont.

Im preying for all of us.

Luv2 and Klp -- Telling them it is an emergency situation doesn't necessarily mean lockdown, only if you are threatening suicide or threatening to hurt someone else, then they will put you on a 72-hour hold while they evaluate you. People can go to emergency rooms for evaluation and to start on medications for depression if needed also. Many people come into the ER's at this time of the year with depression and anxiety type illnesses.

I think telling your doctor it is an emergency will help them work you in for an emergency appointment.

I wish you both good luck and hope you get help soon with your depression, it is hard to deal with but meds can help and this time of the year only seems to make it worse. flowerforyou

Woody - good luck in your treatment. Sorry you have to do jail time but I respect you for taking responsibility and dealing with it the way you are. You have admitted your problem and sound like you are ready to deal with it head on. I am really grateful, as I know you are, that no one else was hurt as we all hear daily of people killed by drunk drivers. Good luck and take care of yourself. Just take it one day at a time and ask for help when you need it. Your friends on here will be here when you get back. Take care. flowerforyou

Thank you. And you are right. I am not crying about it. A bump in the road, sort of. I am ready to take the challenge and to meet it head on. If you don't like what you see in the mirror, then it is time to do something about it.

Well the one way to keep a thread going is to post to it daily. I read your profile and saw that your into baseball big time. Since I am not much of a sports person I don't know if you create plays in baseball the same way you do for football. If you do just think of all the plays you can come up with

Whether it is a lockdown or not varies State by State. Some states have it for 96 hours instead of 72. If you feel like you are drowning and need the help, don't worry about whether you get locked down. Your pets will survive just fine for 3 or 4 days. You might not.

I lost a very good friend to depression. I almost lost another, but she found timely help that included a lockdown. Depression isn't something that most people can deal with on their own; they need to seek help.

i dont know you well but our comments have crossed.

its good that you're owning up to your mistakes and not just facing them but learning from them. for that you are a better human being than most becuase there are alot of people out there who don't give a **** and get behind that wheel drunk over and over again.

i should know. my baby cousin was killed at the age of 17 by a drunk driver. to me.. it breaks my heart to hear those who do this.

but you're straightening up. you're stopping. and that...

i commend you.

see ya when you get back :)flowers
