Call me whatever name makes you feel better, Green Day is not the worst band ever. They have been around for a VERY long time with a huge fan base.

You do realize that not everyone shares your taste in music, right? laugh

For sure but I was merely commenting that a band thats been around for 20 years can hardly be called the worst band ever... ya know?

I have listened to everything Limp ever did...and I find little similar between them and Alexisonfire.

These guys are louder for one, faster, and Dallas and George BOTH have a better vocal presence than Fred ever did. Ever will. Fred was more of a comical vocalist to me. These guys, even though they do totally different styles, are both stellar at what they do.

I wanna see them live for sure...

Depends on the person. It's all personal preference. You might love a band, but someone else who has listened to the same band might think they're absolutely horrible.

Maybe I should post a Green Day thread and see where that goeslaugh

Honestly I really only like their old stuff, but Green Day is alright. I'm more of an old punk girl when I get my punk on.

U2 I really only like their old stuff too. The new sh!t is...well sh!t. But I love Bono, and his love for helping. Makes me feel like the world is not as morally bankrupt as I think sometimes.

Not only that, but a LOT of crappy bands have somehow managed to survive despite their crappitude. Just because they survived doesn't mean they're any good.

A number of them. Country Joe and the Fish, for starters- they've been around for fourty-plus years and they sucked back during their "Woodstock" years and they're STILL playing out there.

Poison is another more recent example- they stunk back when they were "popular", and to see them still carrying on now is a joke.

I could go through a whole list of bands that stink but are still out there in some form or fashion, but that'd waste valuable internet bandwidth that should be more suited for funny cat videos and porn.

Lyrics to Keep It On Wax :
I, I guess, the only thing cheap to you is your friends
You can always make new friends (oh no)
But it's not always worth as much (oh no)
[2x]

Now this bridge is ashes
It might as well have never been built
It might as well have never been built
Little river that it crossed
Looks like an ocean now, looks like an ocean now

Times change and people change with them
Some people love to play the victim
(Love to play the victim)
Your caution to the end
Washed away these few last tears for nothing
(Wasn't all for nothing)
Keep it on wax

Your not the only one
Who's making these sacrifices
Who's making these sacrifices
And time won't heal ****
When you got your hands in my pocket
When you got your hands...

Kick, Kick, Kick
Scream, Scream, Scream
Won't change a god damn thing (It won't change)
Kick, Kick, Kick
Scream, Scream, Scream (A god damn thing)
[2x]

I, I guess, the only thing cheap to you is your friends
I guess, the only thing cheap to you is your friends [3x]

OOOHHH, what a ****ing shame
OOOHHH, that you had to mess things up this time

Times change and people change with them
Some people love to play the victim
(Love to play the victim)
Your caution to the end
Washed away these few last tears for nothing
(Wasn't all for nothing)

It's gone, it's gone
There's nothing left
Keep it on wax
[2x]

If you're referring to the lactating contortionist stripper Alexis Fire...that's where these guys got their name.

I was actually just looking to get sassed by some of the less-tolerant members of this virtual barrel o' monkeys, actually. I've actually heard of neither the stripper or the band in question.

This is off their first album, Watch Out, song's called Accidents. Geez these guys have a lot of fun with their videos. Is it any wonder that Dallas Green is the most conceited man in Canada?laugh

Not much in the way of lyrics in that song, huh?

From what I gather, it sounds okay technically for what it is. Dunno if it's something I'd personally wanna have blasting on my Fisher-Price pre-school boom-box, but it's not something I'd equate to something released by "Milli-Vanilli". laugh

They don't do much lyrically on the first album. The second one would be better for you, check out the link on the 1st page.

The screaming from George attributes to a lot of the lyrics, Dallas covers what he doesn't. They started out with George's screaming being more prominent but I guess they realize Dallas had a lot of pull.

If you like acoustic check out City and Colour, it's Dallas side project. This one is my all time favourite off City and Colour http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btjhdHX8pMo

I've always been more of a Pantera/Damageplan/Hellyeah/Anthrax kinda fella. Acoustic stuff (except for the fusion-jazz stuff, like Al Di Meola) always seemed to be a wee bit snooze-worthy for me. laugh
