What do you think of them?
I went to my first one tonight and i felt like i was back in Jr. High School. The guys all stood in the back watching while the ladies sat at tables wanting to dance. I thought it was boring and disappointing. I don't know if i will ever bother to go to another one again, even though i love to dance. |

different organizations host them. this one was for people around my age. It was held in a ballroom at a local hotel/convention center. about 100 people there but no one to dance with. i couldn't believe it.

So did you ask any of the guys to dance?
|

because i was born in the wrong era....
if it were 1949 i'd be all about it. but since its 2009... who knows. people are full of anxiety now. pansies. plus i'm a lil nervous about standing in line with other women ... like a bad dodgeball game. |

I didn't realize they had those for adults, either. What's the point in going if no one dances. Did you at least ask someone to dance?

I always request Haddaway's What is Love and break out in a 'Night of the Roxbury' dance. Amazingly enough, I get a lot of attention...suppose that is what happens when you stop caring and put yourself out there? |

O jeez, yeah, was invited to one... AWK-WARDDD! Its only good to see if anyones nice, and talk. I couldnt fathom dancing, I just wasnt moved in that atmosphere.

Dance until you can't dance no more.

Bring your own partner and enjoy dancing with him like there's no tomorrow... problem solved! (Me) Dancing with (3 s) Wouldn't the point of a singles dance mean that you can meet others that are single? Not worrying about having a date? |

(Me) Dancing with (3 s) Wouldn't the point of a singles dance mean that you can meet others that are single? Not worrying about having a date? Yea i was thinking the same thing. if i had a date i wouldn't need to go to a singles dance. No, I didn't ask anyone. Didn't seem like it was the thing to do in this age group. Plus being a newbie, i figured it was better to sit and watch how others handled themselves first. Maybe next time, if there is a next time. |

Having a 'date' means you are desirable, you can always tell the gentleman/ladies they are just a friend, which he/she is.
