It Is Dance M.E. Martin It crosses all boundaries all cultures all colors It is freedom it is stillness it is movement It is dance It is toes tapping arms flowing legs kicking It is modern it is traditional it is hip hop it is be bop It is dance It crosses generations to find the newness of itself It is old it is new it is timeless It is dance It gives flight to dreams and imaginations It is joy it is laughter it is celebration It is dance It gives movement to poetry and prose It is powerful it is different it is excitement It is dance It gives us a language we all understand It is majestic it is common it is spiritual It is dance It gives us connection to one to another It is global it is diverse it is universal It is dance
