Topic: Why do so many people mistake obsession for love?

Because the obsession changes the way they feel and they do not like the way they feel. It is a short cut into making them feel good about themselves, kinda like an addiction.

Interestingly true. I have an obsessed stalker, any suggestions?

restraining order.

Thank you. I have been considering it, but, my friend warned "thats when they kill you" so i'm having second thoughts.

O jesus that sucks, ill pray for you, I used to work in a club where I had a bouncer start walking me to my car, went from that to, bouncer driving me home, then to me hiring bouncer to go everywhere with me.

God bless you, stalkers suck.

flowerforyou You worked in a club and acquired stalkers?flowerforyou

yeah. totally nude strip club.
O YEAH!! Lo, this reminds me of when my dentist stalked me too.. ha ha.. he would send me all kinda of cards, even on groundhogs day (true story) LMAO!!!

I used to errily see him whereever i went, and then i saw him driving slowly down the street behind me in his car twice, which scared me so bad, I stopped once, and screamed at him as loud as I could, and walked really fast back to my house.

He had his office call me all the time reminding me to come back for my next checkup wierdly.

I think I only scaped that one by moving.

He would rave in his office about my "class A bite", and how perfect my teeth were.

I used to wonder if he just wanted them for some wierd collection.

laugh You didn't work at a totally nude strip club!laugh And yeah, that's very weird about your dentist.scaredI wouldn't know how to react to something like thatscared

Yes I did, lol.. for a FEW years. The men who patronise them can be scary as hell.

Those aren't real men, true men wouldn't view women as objects in that light, they'd realize their true worth, and it's not just a pair of breasts and a tight butt.

Well, I believe the stalkers arent real men no, but I personally dont see anything wrong with a man who goes to a strip club if hes single. Thats what the entertainment is for.

Yeah, but the thing is women (and men either for that matter) do not simply exist for entertainment purposes, to be gawked at or lusted over. I think we as a society have let ourselves buy into the idea that it's ok to sell our body in such a way, when I don't think it should be so.

We are so much more then that as people, and deserve to be seen and respected as such, not as objects, but as human beings, hearts and souls, people that can think and feel, not just bodies who are simply there for the pleasure of others who could care less about the real person inside. Those people aren't worthy of these girls or their bodies, to see a person in that state or be involved with them sexually should be a privilege that has to be earned, not a right.

I think both sexes really allow themselves to either use others or be used themselves in ways they shouldn't be, allow themselves to have to live up to the standards of society, that you have to look like this, you have to do that, that it's ok to let anyone see all of you.

Reality though is different. In reality, we matter, the entire package, body, mind and soul all means something, and we deserve to be seen and loved for all of it, not just the physical. We are worth waiting for, thing is not many realize that, or realize their true self worth as people. I think if more people did, the world would be a lot better off.

I can undrstand your view, the whole stripping thing has gotten really stupid in the recent past with the kid rock thing, and the music videos, and these scumbags comparing women. Its absurd, no matter how disgusting, it for me is just another way of seeing a man for who he really is.. i also believe those clubs are for young men, who dont know much about women. A man who is into that at say age 27 28, 30 should grow up. But I still believe it has its place.

Yeah that's exactly what I mean, why should a woman have to compete with something like that, or even have to live up to any standards as this to begin with? I know a lot of times, women involved in the sexual industry (not saying you were per se), be it porn or stripping or whatever, end up having to drink heavily, use drugs etc, to get through what they do, in effect self medicating, cause of the emotional (and sometimes physical) toll their line of work puts on them. It's kind of disgusting really, that we use and abuse women like that in this culture.

You say that it for you is just another way of seeing a man for who he really is, what do you mean by that exactly?

As for the last part, in my mind I'm not so sure once you get exposed to some of this stuff you can grow up per se. Speaking as someone who though has never gone to a club, but viewed a lot of porn and sexual material over the years, it sticks with you, the images stay long after you've stopped viewing it, and it makes it difficult to see the woman for who they really are, when you got all these ideas in your head of what they should be from all that you have been exposed to. Not to mention how hard it is to change those habits and refrain from said materials or said clubs, later on in life, speaking from my own experience to that end.

I realize in this society it's almost impossible to not see some sort of sexual related material as it's basically everywhere now, but I would think the less of it you knowingly expose yourself to in whatever way, the more you are likely to respect women and the more likely you are to be a true man, who understands the value of a woman, both inside and outside.

Well, its good to hear your point of view. The strip club thing is a animal all its own, it its a complete lifestyle for the dancer, and the patron. I dont reccomend it, but dont have a prblem with it. In my experience a stupid fool is a stupid fool no matter what.

Yeah, and to be honest I see a lot out there, that don't realize the true meaning of people, of themselves.

Agreed on the strip club being an animal all it's own, really the entire sex industry is that way. I hate how we view sex that way though, or how a lot of it has impacted our view of sex and sexuality.

Out of curiosity, and I mean no disrespect when I ask this mind you, when you went into stripping, why did you decide to do it?

It was a job.. thats all, money, and also, it was very exciting, and liberating, I had been a cocktail waitress in a strip club, and posed nude already by that time, so it wasnt a big deal, just natural. It gave me an opportuinty to entertain creatively, i enjoyed it.

I'm not so sure there's a whole that can be done creatively as far as showing off one's body, but maybe there's more to it then it may seem, again no offense.

Sure there is, theres choreography, theres costumes, theres a whole show you put on, with different music, you put a whole diffrnt vibe out there every time you get onstage. I worked in caberet, and burlesque, very entertaining. Its a beautiful art. Its awesome fun being a professioal fantasy.

NO, not at all, it was a job, I wasnt interested in what the men thought of me, I was making thousands of dollars nightly, whoo carreddd? lol I spoke with all of my customers too, and knew them.

They came into the club each night, bought me lobster, and steak dinners, bought me clothes, new costumes, shoes, gave me money fo pay for whatever new thing i was planning on buying. Not a bad relationship really.

Understood, though you realize if you weren't doing what you were doing, they wouldn't think to spend that type of money on you. Sure they wanted you happy, but I would gather it was more so you would stick around longer for them to look at, then out of any real care for you. That's how I see it anyway, could be wrong.

I'm going to sleep now, so any response back you type I won't reply to till later.

As I said whooo caressss? lol.. I wasnt there to make friends, i was there to make money. Do you care if people give a rats *** about you when you sell any product? no. do you care when you make their food in a resturant? no? why would i care what someone thought about me in a strip club? laugh Just pay me the cash. But the truth of the matter was, people were extra nice.

Did you find that the regular clients were almost a little intimidated by you?

That they were almost in awe of you?

I have found that most clients in the adult industry are more respectful of the women, than the average Joe in a bar is...

Omg yes! many were very in awe, but I am a real down to earth girl next door so it helped, but yeah, they stayed in awe. And you hit the nail on the head.. they were all more respectful than anyone had ever been anywhere I had ever worked. Sometimes the truth hurts..

I found Kleistos questions fascinating... and not reflecting on him personally, however...

the kind of questions he asked always come from people who are outside of the industry....and usually men, who show that's how THEY think of women working in adult entertainment....

Objectifying the women, seeing them as sexual entertainment objects..

Whereas it is the exact opposite in most cases...regular clients see these women almost as iconic famous type people...an almost worship...rather than a piece of meat to be oggled at.

hahahaha ooops...got a bit carried away there...

 All these things have you said of beauty.
Yet in truth you spoke not of her but of needs unsatisfied,
And beauty is not a need but an ecstasy.
It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth,
But rather a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted.
It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear,
But rather an image you see though you close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears.
It is not the sap within the furrowed bark, nor a wing attached to a claw,
But rather a garden for ever in bloom and a flock of angels for ever in flight.
People of Orphalese, beauty is life when life unveils her holy face.
But you are life and you are the veil.
Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
But you are eternity and your are the mirror.
   biggrin This is nice......
