Might be time to consult with a lawyer .Not all debts have to be repaid if your name was not on them .Especially unsecured debt like credit cards and such. You also need to find out if he had any mortgage insurance .Might pay it off .Do'nt do anything in a hurry take your time and investigate .He's deceased they cant threaten a dead man .Send all debtors a copy of his death certificate and then speak to a lawyer first consults are always free

(((((BOB)))))) Paying off debt all depends on the state you live in. I had to pay all of my hubsands debts even if my name wasn't on things because I was married to him at the time of his death. Getting a lawyer like you said is the best thing to do.

At leaast I got some Life Insurance. I know that sounds really cold, bui that SOB was willing to do things no real spouse woud do. Remember, I cried when I wasn't picked to go to Irag.

Nope thanks for the suggestions but Menards does'nt pay for beans and Home Depot uses JB Hunt .I'd shoot myself first !
