profanity
the word gay
things that upset you
a different point of view other than your own

I'm sofa king tired of hearing about gay marriage, gay this and that, interracial whatever and all of the PC sh*t today,,,

I do not care what two people do whether it be right or wrong by whatever churches standards,,,
let them marry
have kids
share wills

they can be gay
different colors

I do not care what they do in the privacy of their own home as long as,,,
they do not invade someone elses privacy
they do not force their will on others
they do not infringe on someone elses human rights
(thinks,,, that about covers it all)

Do I care if they marry,,, I guess this applies to many,,, short term marriages, gold diggers, gay marriages that are a stand to prove a point,,,

Well, I have a problem in that, anyone getting married, shouldn't be able to collect the benefits of someone who has been married for decades, then, when their spouse dies, they get Social Security. In the cases where a couple has been married 20, 30 even 40 years, that spouse has a "RIGHT" to the social security earned by the deceased,,,
I don't want to hear the same lame @ssed excuse that the "will" gets broken or the estate gets taken by the state and everything goes *poof* and the "loved one" gets nothing,,, it's a frikken sob story used as an excuse for "rights",,,

If you're an interracial couple,,,
Again, I don't care what you do but, please, think ahead of time of the circumstances of children you bring into the world. In the bigger city, it is no problem but in some backwoods, redneck country areas of some of our states, the child will be tormented. Just use your frikken head and do NOT expect that because it's wrong, you can expect the child to have a happy childhood (formative years I believe they're called).

My point?
I'm just sofa king tired of hearing about it anymore,,,
I'm more concerned with,,,
homeless children
children who don't get enough food
children who don't get a decent education
parents who are children themselves and don't have the parenting skills necessary
the nutcases that are acquiring nuclear technology

I guess I could be wrong but I'm seeing adults acting more like selfish kids with their whining about their rights when so many others who are having their rights quashed on a daily basis are being ignored,,,

 I have been wondering why if marriage is a religious institution, then how come people have to purchase a marriage license from the goverment and have to go to the goverments court to get a divorce, instead of a church?

I grew up in a backwoods town in rural Iowa, we had many inter-racial relationships but only the close minded old timers and a couple of racists ever had a problem with it. Children will make fun of each other for many reasons, but they are resilient.

The last 3 guys that I've dated were strongly opposed to gay marriage. They were all bachelors, never married, not good marriage material anyway, yet all opposed to allowing gays to pursue a right that they themselves have never engaged in and probably never will.

I am not sure I get the rant about getting married and collecting benefits, what's that got to do with gay marriage. I must be missing something.

I agree with you on one thing. We are all tired of the issue frankly, gay and straight. It's not the gays holding things up here, it's the straights and probably mostly religious folks, so if you are tired of it speak out where it counts, and I don't know that Mingle counts as speaking out.

This issue has been around for centuries, and the only reason it seems to be a huge thing is because no one ever did anything about it, so if you want to see this thing end then speak out where it will do the most good.

If not, then expect this to be a continuing thing for ever. I'm betting it takes a lot more time, especially when some think we came down with yesterdays rain, and seem to think that folks need more time to get used to it? Geesh, 2000 years isn't enough? LOL

Even in states where gay marriage is legal the spouses are not entitled to health insurance, life insurance or death benefits the same way a straight couple would automatically be entitled to

Wow, thanks, I didn't know that. Doesn't seem like much of a marriage than if it's still not equal to those of straight couples.

I think that is the whole point.......why shouldn't they be entitled to the same perks as straight couples. In this day and age you would think that the majority of the people would be over all the politcal BS. Who cares what gender the person is that you decide to marry, isn't after all about being happy. Give them what they want....who the hell is it hurting anyway

Ah yes, you would think that people by now would be over the political BS, but unfortunately many are not. Each new generation makes one more step, which will have to do.

Gays just plain don't play by those rules, and break every one. THEY are the ones who need an attitude adjustment over everyone else. As far as the rednecks go, just stay out of their yards, is that really so hard??? Not nearly as intolerant as gays, and I am tired of the term redneck even being used to imply something negative, when it isn't. Only snobs use it in a derrogatory way. About as appropriate and acceptable as the word nigger.

boo2u, the rant about benefits probably addresses the fact that the only reason gays want to force others to alter the accepted definition of "marriage" is out of monetary greed.

plk1966"why shouldn't they be entitled to the same perks as straight couples."
Probably because gays can't have kids, and most of those marriage laws were made because that was the original intent behind marriage, to rear and raise children.

MirrorMirror "Why are some people allowed to get married and some are not.smileThe Constitution says that everyone is supposed to have the same rights.smileTherefore, gay people will eventually be able to get married sooner or later.smile"
LOL They ALREADY HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS. Gays can marry people of the opposite sex, and straight people can't marry people of the same sex = SAME RIGHTS. What you want is a special set of "rights" so that a group can capitalize on their sexual preferences. Keep it in the bedroom (same as straights) not in the courtroom.

I always get a chuckle out of this one. It reminds me of all the married people that don't want to have children. Then there are those that can't have children and get married. How many have had surgery so they can't get pregnant. How many men have been "fixed".

See, works both ways doesn't it.

Dang, I don't know where you live that gays are so all over the place that you are bothered this much by them. Must be knocking on your door all times of day just to tick you off.

Don't like being called a Redneck? Personally I don't blame you, but I have lots of rednecks around me here and I love them in fact, though they just aren't hateful rednecks that can't say anything good about anybody other than those they approve of.

Just like not all gays are obnoxious like I will admit some are, but then some PEOPLE are just obnoxious period, now aren't they?

And just for your information, I never asked anyone for a dime in my life and don't intend to start now. I pay into the system just like you do. In fact I pay for kids I don't even have, so quit your $itchin. And frankly I have never complained about that like you complain about gays.

You might as well have said that straights that marry are in it for the benefits, and it's ticking you off that a small segment of society might want to share those benefits. Some gays have kids you know, or were you unaware of that?

I won't even bother to go in to the constitution with you, you are too focused on the 'sex'. Oh and of course straights don't flaunt their sexuality now do they?
