I do think addiction and truely loving someone are closely related but if it is a healthy relationship it doesn't hurt; well except when you have and extended seperation. If you are in a relationship that feels like an addiction I think it is more about your personal problems than the person you think you love.

I think I might qualify as addicted when I was with my 2nd husband. I tried too hard and put up with way too much. Thank God that passed!!!

yeah then I woke up and thought....what the heck was I thinking? Being obsessed and addicted to someone who only cares for themselves is very distructive and leads your whole life to chaos and confusion... not worth it. I don't think it is an addiction to the reality of a person but the idea of a person and the more you are around them the more you hope for something they can not possibly give you... respect and love... They are only interested in using you because they know you would do anything for them... It is not worth it! You must have dated my sociopath ex-husband!!!! next time would you keep a chain on that man dammit
