I know what you mean about the no insurance thing also. Since I'm freelance, I don't exactly have it myself. I'm hoping to get some of my writing published at some point though. Be able to get benefits and stuff through the writer's guild. Of course I would have to join that first. But that would be great!

I wish you all the luck in getting you work published. What kind of work do you do? What do you write besides your poetry? Its Beautiful from what I have read!

Thank you, Linda! God bless you! I do freelance videography/editing work right now...some of that includes writing when I have to do a script or something. All of it has been done through this one establishment, so I actually do have a "job" that I go to, however to use their equipment. But I've been a production assistant, done voice overs for things and things of that nature as well.

I would really love to write and direct movies one day also. Possibly do voice overs and sing as well. As far as writing goes, I do poetry, screenplays, novels, short stories, and even done some kids book stuff too...I have finished one, but haven't sent it off I'm sort of a perfectionist about my writing so I never feel like it's done enough, if that makes any sense... lol

I agree! You know it seems like most of us in here have very creative minds. We should form our own company! LOL Do everything from design quilts to writing greeting cards!

I don't write my own greeting cards but I do make my own alot of times. I use Hallmark. I love it!!!!
I can not write. I would give anything in the world to be able to write poetry but I can not. I have tired but no go! It just don't work for me.

You know I was telling Chris the other day about some of my friends who think poetry has to be rhyming and have certain stanzas, repetition, etc.... but that's really not so. Poetry can be very much narrative and is more about a moment in time with your feelings and thoughts in regard to that moment. So even if you just sit down and focus on one moment and reflect on it, that's poetry right there! I'm sure you would be great at it, actually!!!
