How come it seems that things were more romantic in the old days?Like on movies and all of that, than how it is nowadays?

It's because people actually took the time to know if they were in love back in the day. They didn't live in the uber fast-paced, pre-packaged, instant coffee/instant messaging/email/global community crap that we live in now, so they could stop and smell the proverbial roses. They actually took the time to take part in the long-lost skill of "courting" another person, which often took months or even years.
It also explains why there were more in the way of marriages that last more than ten years back then too, and not the "divorced in three weeks" scenarios we've all been accustomed to witnessing as of late. |

Because, for some odd reason, people now think that the opposite sex " owes " them one thing or another.
They no longer feel that they should have to work ( be romantic ) at it. |

Back in the good old days a man could give his woman a good old smack and she'd love him for it!

There was a decent chick flick romantic movie I did like that wasn't necessarily from the good old days. The movie was from one of my fav. director called "Before Sunrise."
Punch Drunk Love is second on my list. Great movie. |

Nostalgia is a common disease.
You can tell if someone is an optimist or a pessimist by asking them what is coming in the future, but with the exception of the truly traumatized, almost all human beings believe the past was BETTER than the present. The truth is that the human experience in general continues to improve as we, as a race, approach God . . . we will never get THERE, but we get closer . . . hopefully, you as an individual, are making small strides in the direction of God as am I . . . Yesterday was NOT better . . . and neither were you then, you are better now for better or worse . . . But why worry about it . . . the only thing that God has given you control over is . . . Right Now, this exact moment. What will you choose to do with it? I choose to use it to encourage you not to worry about the past or the future, but to take just one small step towards God on THIS MOMENT. Remember, Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, but today is a GIFT . . . . that's why they call it the PRESENT. But what the heck do I know? Peace, Baby Bry |
