Whichever version you use, make sure you select the CUSTOM install and deselect a lot of what it installs, otherwise your computer will be full of spyware soon. (I used to fix computers that had that problem a lot).

So is it spybot.com? i am not sure what to do at this point

i never have any trouble with viruses or spyware from limewire but i stick to music,vids,and pics.i don't get any programs or documents off of it

i heard that limewire has no viruses or spy ware per say but a payload of java scripts that no one knows what they really do..?

Forget limewire and use shareaza http://sourceforge.net/projects/shareaza/ instead. Open source, free, no spyware or adware. Shareaza is a multi-network peer-to-peer ( P2P ) file-sharing client supporting Gnutella2, Gnutella, eDonkey2000 ( eMule ), HTTP, FTP and BitTorrent protocols.

I use Bearshare, like it better. As for anti-spyware, you would want SUPERantispyware. It will find EVERYTHING, not just the easy ones. It's free too.
