This is a one hour video between Gary Franchi, of Restore the Republic, and G Edward Griffin, the author of "The Creature From Jekyll Island".

Mr Griffins book is a top seller, and on the lecture curcuit he is noted as an authority on the FED, its creation, its actions and the goals of its agenda.

This is a very informative interview, and I apologize to those with "no speakers" (Rose waving ) or a dialup connection (willing waving ).

The message is simple, Abolish the FED, and put control and minting back into the hands of the Treasury Dept (where it can be printed intrest free) and taken away from the profiteering private banking cartel who now controls it.

did you know that we didn't have a standard US currency until Abraham Lincoln established one during the Civil War? Banks used to print their own currency and it varied state to state.

You think we should go back to that too?

i think we should go back to the greenback (the currency Lincoln established) and do away with the federal reserve (note)

Individual states can print and issue currency now if it is backed by gold or silver based reserves. They can't print fiat money out of thin air as the FED does tho.

It could work, but as with anything, there would be a lot of issues to resolve. Easier just to put it back into the hands of the Treasury and take it from the hands of a private cartel.

The FED is nonprofit, a regulator, but it is bankers printing money out of thin air, to loan to the member banks, who loan it to us for a profit. If the Treasury controlled it, it would take the LARGE intrest profits from the banks. Our tax dollars could actually fund something other than just paying the intrest on the national debt to these private banks for the money we (the government) have borrowed from them!

While I believe that taking the power from the banks is a good thing, this still allows the federal government to print money at will and places no safeguards against inflation in place.

I would hope that if we are smart enough to abolish the FED bank robbers....er....banks, that we are smart enough to put some kind of restictions on "OUR" Treasury Dept that we have at least some control over. Nobody has a say with the FED ( a private, non-governmental agency) other than the bankers themselves. They consider themselves above the government and therefore our laws.

Whenever you remove the "middleman" you save money, whenever money is involved there is the possibilty of greed and corruption, inflation and all other pitfalls. This is true, and I agree with you, but sometimes the results are worth the risks.
