I think they have the right to do what they want. I don't know why some gay people want to get married, or why some straight people do too. Marriage is kinda meaningless to me.

Shouldn't all human beings have the right for happiness? Why shouldn't they have the same rights?

In my opinion...what does it matter? It's their life, their choice.

Exactly. lol Experienced it firsthand. My niece is a lesbian, got married in Canada, they had been together years before the marriage.. their marriage lasted 2 years. (Point being.. it's not any different than non-gay couples)

But on the other side of this.. One of my best friends is a gay man, they have been in their relationship for 28 years.. which is more than any marriages/relationships last..that I know of. Kudos to them!!

I think 'yes'.

If they were not contributing to society in all the ways that heteros do, then I might argue 'no'. Since, of course, they do, they deserve every right, freedom, and benefit that everyone else has, regardless of anyone's God.

I think marriage for two individuals does more harm than good of reaching everlasting happiness. If we straight people allow gay people the option and freedom to marry, then we actually do more harm to the gay community. laugh

I say we ban marriage altogether.

Oh please, who cares who marries whom? Does it affect you directly? No. Then why get your tightywhiteys in a knot over it. You'd think there are more important things this world needs to concern itself over than somebody's personal and private life. No one gets involved in your love life, so why involve yourself in someone else's? Sheesh.

yes it is, the government shouldnt be putting the noses in it, just cause the bible says so... if the bible told everyone to jump off a cliff on their 12th birthday people would do it an the world would be a better place

Everyone has the right to be unhappy and married. The problem is why would you want to be in a same sex marriage? You get hit with the marriage tax, but you can go the domestic partner way and get all the benefits of marriage(health insurance and the such) without penalty.

But God hath decreed that marriage is between a man and a woman, and the government is trying to uphold that. Well, besides the gay ones and the married ones banging other people, but still. But the bible does say you should stone to death a woman for having sex while menstruating, but they conveniently ignore that, as well as a ton of other things, but take other things, like marriage, word for word.
