WEST PALM BEACH — If two girls showering nude on Clematis Street can't convince you to go meat-free, can anything?

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is playing its trump card today, trotting out two "PETA beauties" to take naked showers in downtown West Palm Beach behind a sign that admonishes meat-eaters to "clean your conscience."

PETA says raising animals for food produces more greenhouse gas than all the automobiles and planes in the world.

The girls will be showering at noon at the corner of Clematis Street and Narcissus Avenue, according to a PETA news release.

Their banner will read "Clean Your Conscience: Go Vegetarian! 1 lb. of Meat = 6 Months of Showers."

It's only good for a public peep show! I don't know the law there, but public nudity is something one gets arrested for around here. Stupid stunt is all that is.

wow, just found this shocking - while the state is under a severe drought in parts, here 2 ladies, are willing to shower in a public area to cleanse consciousness...

I am certain those watching will not be thinking about meat, meat by products or anything of the like.

I saw protect those that need protecting - but these people do take it to an extreme (jmo) they are worried about people eating animals, meat - yet exploiting young women

I am all for treating animals humanely but my views are not those of PETA.

Also, I have to say I wouldn't hesitate to check out almost anyone who appears in public nude haha

I eat meat, I am an occasional hunter, I own animals and I think it's good to be on the top of the food chain.

PETA is in my view one of the most worthless groups on the planet.

If folks want to support animals consider a gift to your local shelter. They are under huge stress now with lower levels of charitable donations and people who are losing homes and jobs who must surrender pets.

agreed Lynann. I tend to take in strays (and not just my ex boyfriends lol) the 4 legged kind.

but I can think of other ways to promote their cause than showering together lol

Yeppers, I take in strays too...all sorts it seems.

One of my sons friends who lost a job and must relocate was facing giving up his female pit to the local shelter. For a pit that is an almost certain death sentence.

Pepper the Pit is here on a trial stay now. The only negative so far is the wrath of the kitty who hates us all with a burning hot passion right now.

So, maybe someone should organize a pet shower for men's rights? Somehow I doubt it would be a big draw. Maybe you should try to draft some women for that?
