Well, if so i've got a proposition 1) bring me your dog cause in my spare time i take in mistreated Pits get them back into normal living get them to tame down and then rehome them. 2) bring your fighting gloves b/c if u are man enough to make a dog fight you have to be man enough to get into a real fight.

And yes Micheal Vick should have been sent to jail for life he should never play football again!!!

okay...i'm totally pro-animal (i'm even a complete vegetarian), but i'm not sure what pit-bull fighting has to do with football.

the man served his time; shouldn't he have the right to support himself with the job that he's best suited for?

it's not the same thing as a doctor going to jail for selling drugs. i could understand why they shouldn't be able to practice medicine, but there's really no correlation between dog-fighting and football, other than violence.

Michael Vic served more time than most people convicted of the same or similar charges. The legal system made an example of him. He did what he knew, how he was raised. It is illegal and cruel.

So is greyhound racing, IMO. (cruel, that is. It is legal)

Please read my whole statement b4 commenting... I said he should have been given a life sentence! plus pro-athletes are supposed to be role models and that is deffinately not a good role model like thing to do. Hell if it was up to me I would have taken his a$$ out back and let him face the firing squad or maybe and angry bear.

Animal Cruelty should hold at least a life sentence though i think whatever happens to the animal should happen to the person.

I rehomed one the other day (anna molly) after having her for the alst 14 months when i got her she was 2 months old and i saw her owner kick her I gave hime 3 option 1)i take the dog and leave 2) i beat his ass then take the dog and leave 3) i call the cops they take you then i take the dog and leave. That was the hardest rehome ever b/c i didn't want to loose her but i simply don't have the space for her and mine (lilith isabella)

agreed on the greyhound racing and no vick didn't do more time than most people a guy i went to church with has been in jail for 12 years now becasue of the same charges. I still think vick should be shot...

I said MOST people. There will always be outliers. Did this guy from church have any prior convictions?

Death is hardly an appropriate punishment. Get real.

To me regardless what kind of animal it is none deserve to be treated with such cruelty. There are those that should never own any kind of animals.

Have you ever seen a horse that is being starved to death I have and it is really sad to see such a Beautiful animal that has such grace be brought down to that stage. The look within their eyes are unforgettable and one that will bring you to tears.....

And yes they should be punished for what they did to and animal but to suck the blood out of them and take their career from them is a bit much.

Why not make them donate and promote against animal cruelty with the millions they make instead. Would that not be the right thing not only would what they did hang with them for the rest of there lives but some good would come out of the bad that happened.

So letting multiple dogs die is exceptable get a few years of punishment and walk away scott free??? no the guy i know has no priors. Not insulting or trying to insult your opinion but if you see dogs in the situation as some of the ones I have you would understand where i'm coming from. Half the time the best case scenario is the dog is extremely emaciated which is bad but that is easily fixed with time.

you said he should have received a life sentence AND not be able to play football again.

why should football players be role models? i can see it on the college level...but pro ball is most definitely a lucrative enterprise. it's a job.

besides, life in jail most often doesn't equate to actually dying behind bars. sentences are often commuted, parole received, good behavior, yada yada. should we honestly put a man in prison for his ENTIRE life, longer than most murderers and rapists receive, for fighting dogs? really?

i LOVE pit bulls; the best dog i have ever owned was my pit.

that said, there should be an equality of justice. fighting a dog is in no way equal to molestation and murder. and football has nothing to do with either.

My thing is donating to promote against it. you honestly thing Vick learned anything? Well he did be more aware of who you let in your home (b/c i do acknowledge that he did get screwed over by his brother and his cousin they were there dogs and they were the mane people involved) if he learned his lesson then fine.

no football has nothing to do with it but you have to take away what the man loves he did time in minimum security fedral prison easy time. And i know how the whole jail system goes I've done my time there and a life sentance varies state to state most states life means 20 years but dog fighting is a violent crime and should be treated justly but it is not and Vick was constituted as a mitagated offender and had to do 20% of the sentence and he gets to do part of that 20 at his house and out working a 10 dollar an hour construction job. Let me just put it like this if i ever see anyone hurt my dog I'm going to kill them. my dog is like my child/my best friend
