Here are some kids that need a sound beating.

Okay, maybe not a beating but...if it were my kid they would be enjoying the simple life, free from electronics and brimming with manual labor.

Hateful little witches need to be schooled.

I do not think it is the place of the public school system to discipline in this matter however and I have to say I think that them becoming involved in this matter is worrying. The video was not made on school grounds or during the school day and really isn't any of the school systems business.

Were I the parent of this child and I contacted another parent who dismissed my concerns...well all bets would be off. Revenge you know is best served up cold. *evil grin*

Video including some footage of the cartoon the children made and of the interview with the child and her mother available at the link below.

SPANAWAY, Wash. - A Pierce County mother wants some answers after some of her daughter's classmates posted a video online, showing several ways to kill the girl.

The video is a cartoon that was made off school grounds by a group of young girls aged 11 and 12.

That video made the rounds on YouTube.

The cartoon is called "Top Six Ways to Kill Piper" and it includes depictions of give girls shooting her, making her commit suicide, poisoning her, and even pushing her off a cliff.

"I was horrified," said Beth Smith, Piper's mother.

Beth Smith says the cartoon targeting her daughter was posted on YouTube to a Hannah Montana song called "True Friend."

Piper is a 6th grader at Elk Plain School of Choice and the girls who made the video attend the same school.

"It really hurt my feelings," said Piper. "If someone hates me that much, to make a video about me, it makes me feel really bad."

Beth Smith contacted the parents of the girls who made the video. Some were shocked, others were dismissive.

"One guy blew it off and said he was making dinner," she said.

The school district says because of privacy rules it can't say how the girls were disciplined.

"Since then the students have expressed their remorse about this incident and we do believe that Elk Plain has been and will continue to be a safe place for students to learn," said Krista Carlson, Bethel School District.

Not knowing what happened leaves Smith frustrated because she wants to know if her daughter is safe.

"My heart aches," she said. "I fear for her safety."

Piper said some of the girls called to apologize.

A report was filed with the sheriff's department.

the only reason I can see the school getting involved is because they all go to the same school and for the safety of the student. maybe the student was being harassed at school as well and this sick video was the last straw?

We have something along the same lines going on in this area… trying to decide how far over the line the schools can go in punishing students who do things off school grounds and during non-school hours.

Our situation involves a large group of students who planned and carried out an attack (a group beating) on a few other kids. These were high school students. Most of the ones doing the beating are on the football team.

On one side, the argument is that the reason the school is doing nothing is because of them being on the team. They feel that the team members are a representation of the school and should at least be kicked off the team for dishonor. This, of course, would be almost the whole team.

On the other side of the argument is that this happened after school and not on school property and that it is something to be handled by the police, especially since they have yet to go to court.

As a side note, they also videotaped what took place with several cell phones, so there is no question of what took place and who was involved.

This is in Spotsylvania County in Virginia. The Free Lance-Star (local paper) has articles.

It was an art, and wasn't any business of school.

I think the school should sit these girls down, including the victim and hash this out until everyone including the parents understand where this came from. I also think that schools should have some sort of mandatory socialization classes for both boys and girls. Parents obviously are not socializing their children and someone had better somewhere. We teach everything else in school but we don't teach common sense and how to treat eachother respectfully?

Sure I would like to see the parents take the innitiative to do this but hell where were the parents of these girls who think nothing of this kind of irresponsible behavior toward another human being.

We can fight all day long about who's responsibility it is, but we are raising a generation of bullys both girls and boys.

Ideally the parents should sit these kids down and hash it out.

Personal responsibility?

I say impress the kids with what it really means. Accountability!

I am not in the everybody be nice school of thought. It's good to be able to saddle up and ride it rough. Reality is like that.

Life is hard, people are greedy and mean, people do awful and unreasonable things, violence both necessary and unnecessary happens. That's the world...

As I said here more than once...a wrong doing is not the same as a crime.

These little girls, sophisticated enough to make and post a video like that, are no innocent babes in the wood. Their video, absent an indication that it is satire or a condemnation of violence, is really pretty awful.

I am all about free speech but that line has been discussed here before.

Were it my child there would be no question but I am not going to Monday morning parent.

Oh..there is some value in bullying...it makes you strong sometimes...but...these kids deserve consequence. The school? Watch and maybe enhance protections but they really have no business enforcing discipline here.
