Topic: Are There Men Out There That Don't Lie? | |

The opposite end of the spectrum is finding someone who is bluntly honest....
Trust me on this...I am old enough and experienced enough to have figured out that lying and BS gets me no where... The problem with this is that...like it or not...people want to be lied to. Let's face facts...when someone give you an honest answer that hurts your feelings...it ain't no better than a lie that spares your feelings. |

Well yes that can be true in some cases but wouldnt that apply more to "white lies?" Like how is this new haircut or do these jeans make me look fat? Not cheating and so forth. |

Actually Zaz.....I was thinking back to truths I have said that It would have been better if I lied...
"I hate it when I would rather be at work than be with you" "Your Mom if a f**kin flake" "Yeah, sometimes I do have doubts about "Us"" |

I see. Well in that case it sounds like the relationship had run its course so to keep all of that bottled up inside would have been bad and just drug it on longer then it should have continued. If those were your genuine thoughts and it no longer even occurs to you to attempt to spare the person's feelings...

Everyone lies, men and women. The trick is what the lie is, is it one to hide something malicious, or is it one the is used to keep feeling from getting hurt because they love you that much. I lied to my wife many times: [her] "Honey, what's in my Christmas present this year?' [me] "Nothing." [her] "Liar!" [me] "Yep!" That is my point, it is really more of what the lie is about. When it is used for spite or cover up of wrongful deeds, it's wrong. When used to lessen emotional pain, then it's different. Very good point, Archilles... Here's another example: I lied to my ex many times too: [her] "Honey, does this dress make me look fat?" [me] "No, not at all." But what I really wanted to tell her was, no honey, the dress doesn't make you look fat. It's your fat that makes you look fat... |

I was just wondering if there is any honest men out there that won't lie?Because so far in my life that is all I can find is lieing cheating men... I don't lie. Well, that's a lie really I should say that I won't lie to mislead or hurt another person. People could call me a liar, but that would be a matter of perspective. I deal with facts so much that fabricating something just sounds plain silly to me. The philosophy I use is that I'll tell you the truth but within reason. Some things are better left unsaid, hence no lies are told, but if you prod my for the truth, I feel you deserve to be lied to. If you're truly an honest person that meets people that base their relationships with you on crap they make up because they feel the real them is'nt good enough, you should take a Holier Than Thou attitude and bask in it because you deserve to do so. |
