The burden of proof does not lie on my shoulders. You are responsible for proving your statements. Be seeing you

Everyone lies, men and women. The trick is what the lie is, is it one to hide something malicious, or is it one the is used to keep feeling from getting hurt because they love you that much.

I lied to my wife many times:
[her] "Honey, what's in my Christmas present this year?'
[me] "Nothing."
[her] "Liar!"
[me] "Yep!"

That is my point, it is really more of what the lie is about. When it is used for spite or cover up of wrongful deeds, it's wrong.
When used to lessen emotional pain, then it's different.

Not all men are deceptive. Not all women are deceptive. You need to turn it around by projecting a more desirable self image. Of course one always needs to take routine precautions and especially when meeting someone from an internet dating site, but if you go into each and every encounter with the conclusion already been rendered that "he's going to lie to me" then you will continue to attract the only kind of men who will put up with that mindset. So in a sense its a self-fulfilling prophecy. Cheer up. bigsmile

Lie? Just wish I could find a woman who doesn't lie around. An active thoughtful woman would be nice.

You got on heels -- you ain't that tall!
You got on makeup -- your face don't look like that!
You got on a wig -- your hair ain't that long!
You got a WonderBra on -- your titties ain't that big!

And you expect men to tell the TRUTH??

Very good point, Archilles...

Here's another example:

I lied to my ex many times too:
[her] "Honey, does this dress make me look fat?"
[me] "No, not at all."

But what I really wanted to tell her was, no honey, the dress doesn't make you look fat. It's your fat that makes you look fat...

nope! (and i'm lying)

chin up chica! you can only be responsible for the words you speak, and if everyone held this philosophy, well, there would be no reason to lie. but, it's human nature and more or less, the mind's self-defense mechanism. the only answer to your question is, yes, there are people out there who can handle their truths, so don't sink the ship just yet! flowerforyou
