How long should a person wait before meeting someone face to face. If living in same province, or few minutes away. Shouldn't you chat and get to know each other for awhile first or is it something that should be done right away in a public place and get any questions of attraction out of the way? I prefer to meet right away because I prefer i person over computers or phones, but it's whatever you feel comfotable with. ![]() |

I think the only rule should be what feels right for the two of you. Sometimes there's instant chemistry, and if you choose to meet in a public place to see if it is the same in person, who is to judge?

I like to take time getting to know someone as much as I can before meeting, that way the first date you will feel comfortable with more to talk about because you will be familiar with each other or after awhile of talking you may decide you don't want to meet them at all. OH so THAT is what you are doing ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think every situation is different, and a "general rule" would probably just mess things up the way most "general rules" tend to do. I will say this -- I once met someone from a dating site two weeks after we first started communicating. That one turned out to be an arsonist, and she did NOT provide that information anywhere in her profile or in any of her pre-face-to-face comminications. So, I have waited anywhere from two weeks to almost a year to meet someone in person. It hasn't made any difference in the outcomes of the relationships. But if I ever decided to meet someone from a dating site again, I would take my time. |

Just do it. Get it over with and then you won't have to worry about it. I agree. Why are people so damnn scared to meet in person? Odds are that you run by hundreds of guys every day. Are you afraid of them? So why would you be afraid to meet some guy you've exchanged a few e mails with? Unless he's already said that he planned to rape and kill you and eat your brain. In that case, I recommend you not meet with them ever. But there's nothing scary about meeting at a coffee shop. Why wait? |
