is this a inaccurate or accurate statement --GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE

I don't really think so, what I would call a great mind derives from originality. My viewpoint on a great mind is completely contradicted by that statement.

I think that just means that there is a sense of familiar ... a commonality in the way two people think

...that in no way presupposes 'greatness'.

They could be alike in their thinking supporting racism, or gender bias or child pornography ... in which case I would gladly be alone in my thinking...

Actually my daughter nailed it.

"Great minds think independently."

How'd she get so brilliant?

leonardo da vinci had a great mind. he did not think like socrates.

edison had a great mind. he did not think like warren buffett.

stephen hawking has a great mind, but he never fell off a toilet and invented the flux capacitor.

Same thing happens top me all the time.

Window shades in the car for babies, velcro for shoe laces. I just started telling everyone my ideas and secretly proud when it shows up in the marketplace.

If everyone is building better mousetraps, ideas are sure to be duplicated.

I think it comes from my twins/snowflake/you look like your petor mate/your pet mate looks like you theory.

In the case of twins, they are born and subjected to virtually identical influences (food, clothes, experiences etc.)But they're off a bit so they aren't the same, just as snowflakes forming from identical masses of water vapor at the same time right next to each other cannot follow the exact same path down so the influences, no matter how close the path followed, will be different in temperature, pressure and everything else.

Almost identical, possibly. Absolutely identical, virtually impossible.

I agree. So either you or me or both of us aren't great minds, since I agreed.
