The Dance I Never Had




This memory I have
This song I want to sing
All the emotions I have
Almost all and everything
I give of myself freely
Until my mind is all but sad
But the most disappointing thing
Is the dance I never had.

I know we've never met
And who knows if we ever will
I call and call and call
Just to see if you are real
I regress inside my shell
With feelings I've never had
And the one that hurts the most
Is of the dance I never had

So again I call your line
And again the same 'ole thing
You'll call me back some other time
But in time my phone don't ring
I've learned to accept the truth
It hurts but I'm not mad
Dreams I guess aren't real
Neither is the dance I never had.
