i feel like this site is not really helping me or doing me any good. are there any sites that actually work where people actually meet?

In order to actually meet someone you must establish rapport with someone through mails, then move from there. If you want a guarantee you're going to meet someone you better try a professional matchmaker. They are expensive.

I met my boyfriend on a dating site. POF and we are going strong. Like Lilith said though talking and getting to know each other is key.

Finding love online can be rather tricky. There are a lot of key indicator's that will catch the eye of someone. I avoid all of them. This way when I find someone they are equally as crazy as myself. Its all about approach and what you are looking for, if its instant love try getting out more. If its something you are willing to take your time on then starting writing people.

If I had to take a hunch at that I would say probably cause I am living with my dad still, no job, and no car and I am not independent. And it seems harder to meet people since I am getting older. I don't know just a couple guesses..

I don't know just a couple guesses.. I'd have to agree those are foundational things. Get your life together, then focus on sharing it with someone. JMO
