They have no voices
Yet they speak Children of abuse They call through their Eyes Of hurt And pain At the hands Of those So much larger They are torn Into shreds Of tiny Human remains They huddle Alone In Corners With no walls Praying For someone To save them But no one is there To rescue them Until the time comes When the angels arrive And fly to the heavens With that child Upon their wings Tammy. 5/09 |

Incredible write Tammy
This is why I can and do feel some compassion for those who have done some pretty aweful things......even up to murder. If a full lifetime history is taken, one can see how so many people who commit acts of harm or violence experienced this type of abuse and isolation as children..."praying for someone to save them" but no one did, no adult ever did. It NEVER is an excuse for harmful or violent behavior, as people are responsible for what they do with their human suffering, but it does provide a backdrop for understanding why some things happen, and how critical taking care of and loving children is. The ramifications of child abuse and neglect are often not seen until years later....the implications of such abuse and neglect on the lives of individuals and society at large are far-reaching, to say the least. |
