My Mom is almost 86 and I'm real interested to know if your folks are still here and what issues, if any, are you facing? Have you had to move either one in with you or somewhere? I'm just beginning to come across things that challenge my patience and resourcefulness. My Mom was falling and it took me weeks to talk her into using a walker. She gave in and now she loves it. At what point do you know they can't be alone and how does that go over? I want to hear!

Mom and Dad are in there mid 80's. Mom has macular degeneration but still has high spirits and gets around the house with out any problems, Dad has back issues and I think has finally decided to use the walker neither one uses there hearing aid until I happen to go over. ATM they are looking into assisted living, my sister wants them to think about moving closer to her so she can take mom shopping and help with other things. Lately dad hasn’t said much about anything I think he is finding it hard to think about moving away for the town where he has lived for almost 50 years. It’s not easy watching them grow old, they fight and bit-h at each other like a couple of kids so now I know what I have to look forward to.

Both of my parents are in their mid 70s. My dad had a quadruple bypass 10 years ago and since has developed diabetes. Mom has had quadruple angioplasty (spelling?) I also still have a living grandmom who is 94 and quite healthy. I hope I have her genes. I'm not looking forward to the day that my parents can no longer stay in their home. They won't move without a fight. They have lived in their house for 54 yrs.

Both of my parents are deceased. My dad was involved in a car accident and my mom passed due to illness. Both are missed very much.

My daddy died when I was just 16 and my mom passed away from cancer when I was 29. I feel so cheated, and the fact that my kids never experienced having grandparents hurts too. My husbands parents are also gone, so it's just me and the kids as we have no extended family to speak of either. I do have a great bro in Texas, but sadly, we never can get together because of curcumstances beyond our control. All of you with parents are so lucky...cherish your time together, good or bad.flowerforyou
