Some people just like to live their lives like they were living a soap opera, I guess. They just can't stand that real life isn't as interesting as that found on "As The Stomach Turns", so they gotta pee on everyone elses' Wheaties.
I try to avoid such shenanigans myself, but sometimes that ends up being out of the question.
