Hard for me to answer this because I don't actively do searches on here. And I usually only look at profiles of forum posters. And I am much more watchful of what people say in the forums as to what turns me off about someone than their profile. Profiles can be misleading because most people aren't writers and most people are uncomfortable just talking about themselves unless it is in the course of conversation. So I tend to give people a break and just ask questions if I am interested.

To long a profile. Old pics. No pic at all Whinning about ex.we all have them.lol Men way to young e-mailing me.Not intersted in 20,30,40 year olds. married and looking-real turn off |

I agree with you and Destiny also. I wasn't looking but, I was much more prone to notice what someone said in the forums than just searching through the profiles. I was never here for that.

i look for some interesting spark. and out of just plain old idle curiousity. i find it fascinating sometimes to read what people have to write and look at the pics they choose for themselves. i like to guess at what they might be like.
sometimes - when someone keeps making interesting or amusing comments in a way that really gets my attention - i'll check back in on their profile to see what their status is, or if their pic looks vaguely familiar or i never saw that pic before etc....like to see how their journey is evolving (or not) here. very few things turn me off actually. sometimes it is just kind of boring. other times there are really very amusing comments or pics. i like to see who is on their friends list as a friends of friends kind of thing. i think i may have a slightly unusual perspective. |

You can live with someone for years and not know them. You can talk to people online for months and still be strangers. People that want something from you will generally put their best face forward in this medium. Merely seeing words and photos on a page does not give me a sense of attraction any more. |
