U.S. President Barack Obama has sent a message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding that Israel not surprise the U.S. with an Israeli military operation against Iran. The message was conveyed by a senior American official who met in Israel with Netanyahu, ministers and other senior officials. Earlier, Netanyahu's envoy visited Washington and met with National Security Adviser James Jones and with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and discussed the dialogue Obama has initiated with Tehran.

The message from the American envoy to the prime minister reveals U.S. concern that Israel could lose patience and act against Iran. It is important to the Americans that they not be caught off guard and find themselves facing facts on the ground at the last minute.

I'm sick and tired from all the war mongering coming from Israel. They can easily break out a major war, and I don't think USA is in a position to fight another war, especially with Iran,

Iran is nothing like Iraq, I hope most of you understand this.

So, the US wants a memo ahead of time of Israel's intent? Demands it??? How much notice does the US want? Does the US contend that they are the ultimate voice of reason? Sounds narcissistic and arrogant. Note: I didn't go to the article.

It is odd that this report was made public. It is standard procedure for this type of "request" to be made secretly. More often than not, when this type of event is made public, it is more posturing than fact. It may, in fact, just be a warning to Iran that they better be careful.

Good observation. I think it could be posturing too.

It is too bad America got themselves involved in this mess. Now they will be stuck with the problems Israel has of other countries in the area. It maybe forever also.

Middle Eastern differences have been existing way before the US was established.

Well what it is worth, Good luck on thatdrinker

For the one world government to come to order, these rogue nations must be brought under control. You can expect to see much more this sort of thing in the coming years.

I don't believe this for one second. AIPAC owns the DNC. All of this talk about getting tough on Israel is a bunch of BS. This is a C.Y.A moment, so the administration can say they didn't ok the strike. How does Obama continue his appeasement of the muslim world if it looks like he gave the alrighty to bombing Iran?

This is funny.

Israel is a dog of US. Therefore, whether US says it was forewarned, or US say it wasn't, make no mistake, Israel will make not a single move, without clearing it with Obama first.

With this said, the posted news means to me, that Obama doesn't want to be attached. He is publicly telling his dog: "Don't you even think of biting anyone without writing me a letter".

When Israel attacks, Obama would have plausible deniability by pointing back that he did have a conversation with his pit bull, but the dog didn't listen.

It is simply a fate. Every empire falls by involving itself in more wars than it can take. We're simply following our fate.
