Could a spyblocker prevention program or microtrend virus killer program actually throw out viruses on the internet as a strategy for customers to buy their products to help eliminate them later?

I just can't help to think that many of these companies who offer protection for your computer also spread out viruses in hopes more people will buy their products later.

Anyway I hope I didn't give any ideas for that would be terrible.

In the end it sucks that when you get a virus on your computer and your program can't erase it, you have to buy yet another program to get rid of that one.

What makes it sad is you can now even get a virus if you receive a instant message from someone! That sucks!

Could they? Sure - they're trained in detecting, and their coders could certainly create. Would they? Not a reputable one, not if they're smart. So, perhaps the title would have better read "How some companies could increase their profits"?

Also, there are many free anti virus and anti spyware applications out there, most of which work wonderfully well.

You could download Clamwin. It is an open source antivirus.

Could? You've got to be kidding. They must, in order to survive. Their duty is not to keep "the wild" clean, but only the computers of their clients. So, there is nothing amoral about it.

Well there IS "ransomware" which a program that either you install or is installed via ActiveX calls when you're online. When installed, the program essentially locks you out of your computer until your pay up some fee to get it back under your control.

Wow that is amazing. Locks your computer! That suckslaugh

Well they made sure they will get their money from you. The only thing is how can you pay if your computer is locked up. Send a money order?

I do not recomend 'open source' AVs, that means that ANYONE who has that program can alter it, which means that a good hacker can use that program to create a virus that the Open Source AV wont be able to stop or even detect. As was stated earlier, many free AVs out there, Avast, AVG, PC tools, Bit Defender are much better.

I agree with XxAchillesxX.

AVG is quite good and used with Zone Alarm (also free) as a firewall your pretty well protected. You may want to use Adaware(free) occasionally to completely strip your machine of data miners and tracking cookies or run Trend Micro's Housecall from the web (again free) to make sure you AV is doing it's job.

There are malware programs created by malware makes, some anti alware programs actually have malware in them, some lie to and say you're infected when you're not. I don't think it's the legitimate companies doing it though.
