Yeppiers matter of fact a friend of mine found the dog I have now Sassy (Cocker Spaniel) rolling under a car in the middle of a busy 6 lane street just down the road from where I live. One look at her and well that is all it took no one ever claimed her or put and add in the paper nor contacted the Dog Pound to claim her. Soooooo after having her for a bit had her scanned for a chip as well then she officially became part of my family.
Was not even wanting a dog nor looking for one but.............she is spoiled rotten now lol |

My first ever cat was a stray, I called it Blacky, because it was black. I was a very unoriginal 6 year old.

Growing up my brothers and I were always bring home stray animals. My dad wasn't always thrilled about it. Until one night he came home with a rain soaked kitten. After that he couldn't say anything.
Currently three out of the four animals I have were "semi strays". By that what is meant is that the people who had them had to give them up for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately there have been times when I've turned down country roads right after some one had dumped some kittens or puppies. Always a very sad sight. |

About a year before my divorce, I was laying in bed awake in the morning... and I heard a small kitten mewing. I figured, man a cat had babies outside my window. Anyway I am laying there listening and the mewing got fainter... and fainter until until all I heard was a faint whine.
After thinking about a minute I was like... "crap" so I had to go make sure it was OK. I went around the house and there was a TINY little grey kitten. (Grey animals hold a crazy attraction for me) Anyway I pick it up and take it inside and I was wondering what to do. I held it up to my face and was kinda talking to him and all of a sudden he kind of burst forward in my hand and started nuzzling my face. The deal was done and he was mine, well the families cuz he stayed with them when I left. I named him Mewer. I miss him. |
