I found out a long time ago that some threads here are meant solely to inflame and otherwise piss people off. There's very little in the way of information or civilized discussion to be had in those threads, and they end up causing more rifts in the community than anything else.

That (now-deleted) "Cynicism vs. Pessimism" thread that pervaded the General Forum was another example- it was nothing but ten pages of people arguing back and forth about inane crap, and other people trying to mandate their opinions like they were written law or something.

The worst part was that none of the mods did a thing to calm the drama down until someone came along and deleted the whole thread.

So -as a result- I don't even bother with those kinds of threads anymore. I've already lost enough friends as it is.

I hear ya GG... He's not a bad guy, I think he's just having an angry time lately.... Of course I don't know him that well but gaging from his posts since he's been on here...

I also thought this seemed out of character, by and large. Who knows what's up...maybe the 4th was really recent and the wound is open?

Could be, hard to say... I know I have days here and there but I don't blame it on the whole species.. I could date plenty of different men but it's not what I want so why settle? Been there done that, much prefer and respect my standing my ground and being willing to live with the possibility that there isn't someone for me...
