I am not sure if I am posting within the right category... but this freaked me out!

I was on my messenger and a guy said he saw my profile in the mingle site.

How did he get my messenger ID?
OK... maybe because my mingle ID matches my messenger's... no brainier... I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

but I was on Stealth mode on the site, so he supposedly cant see me, right?, he is not on the "Who view me" list either and his profile is either not visible or it does not exist.

I do not felt threatened in any way but certainly I felt invaded and alarmed.

Any suggestions? has anybody experienced the same situation?

they cant get your messenger id from this site.

unless you have yours listed in your profile

stealth mode only doesnt show up when you are online or when you look at another profile it wont show that you looked. he must be on stealth mode hisself therefore you wouldnt see that he looked at your profile.

You can set your messenger to only receive messages from people on your friend list. In options or privacy, I think.

It's a popular scam, they say they saw your profile on this or another site to get you to talk with them.

pretty soon the story of their needing money, or you winning an out of country lottery sets in.

just block those.

I have had people do the same, I just block 'em. Said if they want to talk to me that bad, they can message me through here.

Damn... besides the CIA, FBI, Interpol and my Ex... I have this guy after me also!!



I don't have it expressly listed on the profile... both applications share the same ID.

I guess the point is that he did not ask permission to IM me... I found that kind of invasive and rude...

OH! but the best part is that his message stated
"... I deserve to get to know you better..."

A person can also Google your name or screen name & find you anywhere on the net...it happened to me...BLAH!

I have had a similar experience with a stalker girl that got my location and everything.

Rest assured my friend... no double post here.
