I went to Riverfest '07 when Daughtry was here.
My daughter got to see Daughtry, The Guess Who, Steppenwolf and Chuck Berry. Riverfests since then have been rather poorly planned. Our last 'Fest together, my daughter went to go see the big band playing that night, but a huge storm came and knocked down the keyboardists keyboard and the band packed up and went home and we were forced by the storm to go home. My daughter was so heartbroken. That was our last 'Fest together. This year she is in Israel. I didn't go opening night. Who likes Loverboy? yeah.... The only concert I am willing to go see this year is Dr. Hook. Everything else is so lame. Plus, knowing that there was a shoot-out at the 'Fest opening night... yeah, makes me want to go EVEN MORE. Can't they plan Riverfest maybe later in the year? Like when kids don't have to go to school or something? |

since when was it a river fest anyway. The powers the be dont want anyone to use the river as their is no revenue from it like concerts and food courts.
If you dont believe me, look at the level of the lincoln street dam. It's not as low as it could be. My theory is the city does not want anyone to see the silt left behind from the water. I witnessed at least 100 man-hours used during the week before riverfest in an effort to clean the silt away from the previous high water. And it's not like the water level changes from lincoln street up, there's a dam for pete's sake. It could be in august and the water level is the same. Someone needs to pull their head out and use it!(polititions aren't known for that) Sorry for the rant. |
