Anyone going? Why or why not? What are your favorites that keep you coming back?

I might go Saturday night. I'm pretty psyched about it because I have never gone to the River Festival. I have heard many great things about it. I am taking my young daughter since I have her this weekend. I hope she will enjoy it.

I'll proly be hangin out at the Vagabond on most nights. Do they have any good events this year?

Loverboy is in concert on Saturday night. I sooooo wanted to go, but I have to work. I was hoping my days off would have changed before now. The new clerk is still getting trained so we are on weird days until she gets fully trained so we can have shift coverage.

So what is the Vagabond? I have never heard of it

The Vagabond is a coffee shop by morning,bar at night, kind of place. It's pretty small, a nice&quiet kind-of place. It's just west of the clocktower in Delano district. It's my usual stop after dropping the kid off at school(West high). 3 cups of joe and I'm buzzen all day!

I usually hit the parade on Friday night. I'm sure I and the boys will try to do something on Saturday too. The concert sounds like a good time... might go to that.

I miss the balloon launches. We used to really enjoy those. Even went up once.

Interesting. I just googled it and checked out the myspace page and some of the reviews.

i'd like to see more events that are actualy IN the river.after all,it is a "river" festival. Canoe rentals, an old fasioned river ferry would be cool; charge people a fee to cross the river( I know, why not use the bridge? "charity" ). the hole in one contest is cool, if you into golf. canoe races.

There is nothing quite like a balloon ride. Very peaceful. Well, when the oversized bunsen burner isn't lit, lol.

I'll look for her.. don't know if she would recognize me. Tell her not to mace any strangers that ask her for a photo from her camera.

Cool ideas. Biased view ... perhaps!...LOL Didn't there used to be more events on the river. I think I remember when I was in high school being able to rent canoes and paddleboats. Geesh I can't remember now, been too long.

Oh...just mention the motorcycle...that will calm her down!

I just found out there will be canoe and kayak rental or rides of some sort.

Looks like they cancelled the paddle boats & canoes for Saturday. The water is too high.

I'm goin to the spillway to play in the whitewater this afternoon, then we might float the raft down to the boat ramp.:)

I haven't been feeling well since Thurs so I missed the parade on Fri and everything else so far. I'm thinking about doing the lunch thing one day this week on my way to work. I have some friends, too, that are performing in the pow wow on Sat & Sun. I am hoping to go by there on my way to work and catch a few of their dances.

I am off on Thurs and Fri so I am planning on looking at the schedule to see what looks good. Then ss if I can muster up enough "want to" to weather the crowds by myself.

Yes I did. I went to the carnival. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed it but I made the mistake of riding the rides, and didn't feel so great afterwards. Not like the rides at Six Flags! We went to eat at Rubens after the rides, thinking the food would settle my stomach. Not so much. We went over the river after dinner but didn't walk around for long because I felt awful. I plan on going back on Friday, if not sooner, weather permitting. I am glad I took my daughter. I will take in more next time. No more Tilt-a-Whirl aka Tilt-n-Hurl for me.

We got busy and didn't make it out to the concert. I went to the parade and met up with some friends, but seriously. It's a parade. In Wichita. Not exactly Macy's on Thanksgiving, lol. Still we had fun.

Don't think I'll make it to the food court this year. Seems like I used to go to that once every year. It was much easier when I used to work downtown.

I might do the fireworks. Maybe I should check what day those are on, lol.
