I will say this,,
The British started the Zionist movement on their own in 1920 way before
WWII

It accelerated after WWII, and Britain was weakened and could not hold
on to their empire anymore so the UN stepped in and was going to give
57% of the land to what was then 30% of the Jewish population

before this could happen the israeli's declared Independence from
Britain and started a war. taking all the land and pushing the
Palestinians into roughly the same areas they occupy now. Many of them
scattered to Jordan, some to Egypt and well you get the idea.

Their was an American General sent to advise the Israeli's in their war
against Palestine. I think his name was Rose, and he is immortalized by
the Israeli's even today

Britains withdraw from the ME left a power vacum that the Us felt they
had to fill from Pakistan to the medeteranian coast, once all Bristish
territory. The problems there today are mostly due their redrawing of
the borders of every country in the Region. At one time before WWI they
and the Russians had divided Iran into 3 parts. The Russians had the
North The British Had the South and they let Iran have a little peice
directly around Tehran

The British and Russians Fought 3 wars for control of Afghanistan brfore
Russia finally helped the Afghans win their Independence from The
British in about 1919..

Our mistake was when Britain was forced to withdraw from the area and
the people had thought they finally won, because England was too weak to
maintain their empire we stepped in to fill the power vacum and thus
inherited the problems they had been creating for centuries. Instead of
helping them peacefully negotiate their border disputes we stuck to the
same policies, and dragged the British around as our allies, effectively
rubbing their noses in it, with the superior attitude that we are smart,
and they are a backward lot unable to manage their own affairs..

Yes we need to help these countries to solve their disputes amongst
their selves,
Hopefully peacefully, but for sure without our meddling in it with
threats of military force from us.
If they cant solve their problems peacefully then step back and let them
beat each other up,

I do understand what this might entail, but the past and current
policies arent helping, or working. Thats for sure, but sometimes you
just have to let people solve their own problems...They dont need a
Daddy, they need leadership....
