Chase just called for my roommate at 8;15 on a Sunday morning. I told them they just woke the whole house up. Even on a Sunday they have to do this.
Does anyone know how to stop this harassment?

If your roommate is in debt with them, not too much you can do. Debt collectors have certain times that they are allowed to call and 8:15 am is one of those times. ohwell

Yep!

if the phone is not in the roommates name tell them to stop calling your phone and if they do not tell them you will file a telephone harassment claim

The phone is in his name. I am going to talk to my roommate and he might need to just call them and set a payment plan. I just can't have this anymore on Sunday morning.

Better yet, I was at work on New Years Eve and they had my cell #, my work #, etc, and I was at work where I should have been. They apparently sent someone to my house, never did find out why. At 8 p.m. on New Years Night I got a call from "911" doing a "welfare check" - Chase's representative (whoever had come to my door the day before) had turned it in and asked them to check on me as I had not answered my door the day before (of course didn't call my work or my cell to talk to me) - and I had to go to the door to talk to the officer to prove I was okay. If I had really been in trouble, this person waited over 24 hours to call it in, but why didn't they just call me?? I called the bank, they couldn't or wouldn't tell me why the person was at my door!!!?????

That sounds so Bizarre that they would do a welfare check. It sounds like they are keeping track of you. I don't about Chase. I am thinking about getting a different credit card. I always pay on time so I don't get harassed.

It is bizarre. They also let my house insurance get canceled, when they took over my contract in August, they never sent the binder to the insurance company, I got a call from the insurance company the end of Feb. that they were canceling my insurance due to no payment, I called Chase, she did a three-way call and told them she would send the payment, would take 7-10 days, but it was actually canceled and I was without house insurance for 10 days. Makes me nervous when they do stuff like this. I actually think I will call and see if they paid the property taxes like they were supposed to in April also. Has been a real mess working with them.

Sorry about the problems they caused you. That is probably a good idea to see if they are doing their job. Give them a taste of their own medicine.

Hell, they are on my ass too and it wasnt even my fault. My purse was stolen and the thieves took money out of my account to the tune of $500. The bank refused to give it to me after complaining three times! Now they are calling me and harassing me every couple of days. I told them Im not giving them a red cent and that they can write it off. I can't. I will change my phone number if I have to.

I said ok, walked out and took 500 out of my over draft and changed banks! HA! They have been threatening to make it so I cant get another account at any bank for 5 years. I said go ahead. Ive already changed banks. You cant close out my account there and they arent calling me.! Screw them.

My comment isn't about Chase but about a collection agency from back when I was newly married. I didn't have the money to pay them so I avoided the call til payday. They weren't waiting. They called my neighbor and asked them to give me the message they called after asking them if I was home. They used the reverse address phone book to get their number. I was mad and embarrassed. The neighbors and I both contacted the Better Business Bureau as it was none of my neighbors' business I owed someone money.
