I know i cant file on student loans or medical.
I dont have any medical bills anyhow..dental bills though. which is probably same classification. my main concern is about court ordered judgments against you. you know small claims court. I have two of these. and they have and will attempt to garnsih wages if I dont pay. I wonder if I can file bankruptcy on them? along with my Jeep and any credit cards |

don't do it takes 10 years to go off credit if you just don't pay its 7 years Best advice so far.^^^^^ Forget bankruptcy. Change your phone number and do not acknowledge debt. Don't agree to make arrangements. One day those credit card co. will send yo a deal to accept pennies on the dollar. You can bargain for less. Make sure they send you the agreement in writing. |

No matter how well meaning the advice you get is offered, the questions you ask are complex enough to require an expert. Talk to a CPA. An independent would be cheaper than a firm. They may actually give you a little free advice.

Any un-secured debt can be written off. These include credit cards, medical, college loans and other types of debt.Secured debt such as car loans, mortages, and other loans is listed as a asset and becomes more complicated. If you owe more debt then what you have in assets then you will probably be able to keep your assets. Also by law they have to leave you with 1 car, your primary residance(or home),and personal belongings. If you don't own more debt than your assets in secured debt then that will likely be sold to pay off your outstanding debt.Even in this case the creditors will likely have to show up in court to make a claim against you and you have a 50/50 chance they won't show up.If they don't show up then more than likely you will be able to keep your assets anyways unless the trustee tells you otherwise.
Before you file you won't be able to use your credit cards for 90 days.If you transfered large amounts of money,or property in the last 3 years they will look at that. They will want bank account statements for the last 6 months and pay stubs. If you have I belive over $43,000 dollars in your bank account you won't be able to file.I also heard you have to have your taxes paid before you file. I went through bankruptsy and it was no big deal. You don't even go before a judge. You go before a trustee and he or she will ask you around 20 questions. It only took around 10 mintues and I didn't even use a lawyer.Alot of people may say that it hurts your credit record. It does but my credit record was just as bad before bankruptsy so it didn't make much difference. After you do banruptsy you will be getting several credit card offers in the mail daily to re-build your credit. If you are struggling I would recommend it. |

You might talk to whoever is financing your Jeep. They might be able to work with you to extend and lower the payments. |

stop paying on some of the bills they will offer settlements at some point I'm sure of that You can try that and I did and believe me although you may get away with it for some time perhaps 6 months they will eventually take you to court. If they win the court case they can legally garnish your wages and you will have to pay their lawyers fees and court costs which could add up to thousands of dollars. It is true if you stop paying they may try to settle with you but it is typically just a hundred or two hundred lower out of many thousands of dollars. |
