I was in school chorus for 8 years, and I enjoyed that, but its every church ive ever been in, the lyrics dont speak to me, the music to me is always lame.. drives me nuts. I just cant get into it.

Not only is church or a mosque is boring but depressing and ridiculous.

Yea its pretty rare for someone to just look at another person and know what they are thinking . . . . I mean you can never tell when someone is bored, and doesn't really want to be somewhere without physic powers.

I wish I had psychic powers so I could just look at someone and know when they are pissed at me . . . oh wait I can . . . I MUST BE PSYCHIC!!!!!!

You have done more justice to your brain if you watch a terrible episode of American Idol then going to a church listening to a priest telling you that we are all sinners and need to be forgiven by putting money in a basket.

I was made to go to church growing up and I am grateful for the upbringing because I believe it gave me the foundation to be a decent person. Church services were dull so I colored in all the "O's" in the program/bulletin they give you. If the sermon wasn't over by the time I finished I went back and colored in all the lower case "g's" and "p's", etc.

just like anything else yo get out of it what you put in to it

if you go and sit there and let it go in one ear and out the other then it will be boring

if you want it to be stimulating listen to what is said then do some homework and see if the information presented was done so correctly and honestly

i have been to more than one church that i have done this with and when they asked me too join i said i am not sure you meet my qualifications

kinda weird the looks on their faces when i asked them questions that they gave conflicting answers to the information they gave in their lectures and their source book

just had to tell them i could not justify joining such a contradictory organization i was asked more than once by more than one church not to come back and my reply was and with YOUR statement i rest my case

like i said you want something out of it you need to put something into it

Its not up to me to make church services interesting, its up to the vicar/priest etc. I guess i could use your technique and cause some trouble for the church, but thats not the kind of interesting thing i was thinking that the services needed!

At the end of the day i am only likely to be in church these days for a wedding or a funeral. Christianity is nothing more than a sick joke to me. If i was a believer though, i still dont think i could attend church regularly solely because of the boredom factor.

I can imagine if i did have a 'relationship' with the 'Lord', then i would be more entertained, but how can anyone be expected to form such a relationship when there is no excitement about anything happening in the church? When i was 10 years old i never really had any choice over which church i was attending.

But then i am glad church was so boring for me, or otherwise maybe i would have been brainwashed into thinking that such a farcical notion could actually be true.

Hey Dan, When you find a down to earth Black Gospel Church, like The Church Of What's Happening Now~I'll go with you. Those folks are full of the Holy Spirit and aren't afraid to show it either. Leave Tweety Bird at home. He might start speaking in tongues and get us thrown out.

I can certainly understand where you're coming from. When you have most of the people on the platform leading the worship music as volunteers, sometimes the music can be less than professional. My church is fortunate enough to have some professional musicians volunteering their time so that helps out with the others who are less experienced.

We have two worship services. The early one at 8:30 AM and the second one at 11 AM. The first service is a bit more laid back largely because its the 50 and over crowd. The second service is more upbeat and in the gym for the under 50 crowd.
