You may not like this, but it's the truth.
Men have been programmed by evolution to prefer women with certain physical characteristics because women that look like this are more likely to give birth to healthy children. For example, if there were ever men that liked women without breasts any children they had would have gone hungry and died. Any man who says looks don't matter to him feels himself to be unable to attract the "best" women and is willing to settle for a less desirable one. Sex with an ugly woman is better than no sex at all. Looks matter to women as well, but not as much as looks matter to men. This is because a man's health was less of a factor in his children's ability to survive. What mattered more was his standing within the tribe. A tribal leader's child was more likely to survive than someone on the bottom rung. So, leaders often had many wives and many children. |

Is there anyone that would say Angelina Jolie isn't attractive? Why is she attractive?
Because she embodies all the traits of a woman able to give birth to healthy children: Wide hips, narrow waist, long thick hair, clear eyes etc. These are all indacators of good health. If anyone disagrees with me feel free to add your thoughts and reasons. This is after all a discussion forum. I'm open minded and if I'm wrong about this, or anything else, I'll happilly admit to it. But, I do need to read an explanation as to why I'm wrong. Calling me stupid isn't an explaination, it's only an insult. Insults are the weapon of people with no amunition. |

...i think we are all superficial to some degree...some prefer outer beauty to inner beauty and vice versa..we all have a combination of both in mind that we feel we are best suited with ..but then the propensity for being wrong still exist..if for nothing else people change or they dont actually represent who they portray...

My point is about PEOPLE being programmed by evolution and not by the media. Being gay makes no differance. You still know what an attractive woman looks like. The Y chromosome that makes us men is tiny. Much smaller than the X chromosome. This means that all men, gay or otherwise have much more in common with one another than women do.

Attraction is a big part of a relationship...bottom line. Superficial or not that's just the way it is. The sonner we accept that we are not attracted to everyone and everyone is not attracted to us, the easier it is. For women, attraction usually entails more than physical aspects....can't speak for the men...I am guessing that is what draws them in but probably not what keeps them.
