Attorney General Eric Holder said some detainees being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, may end up being released in the U.S. as the Obama administration works with foreign allies to resettle some of the prisoners.

Mr. Holder, in a briefing with reporters, said administration officials are still reviewing individual cases of the approximately 250 detainees to determine which will be put on trial and which may be released to comply with plans to close the detention facility by next year.

Released into the US does not mean let out on main street.

You are assuming that all of people being held there are guilty. None of them have been arrested, none have received a trail and in general the government would not even release names of detainees. The practices put into place for Gitmo are so far out of whack that all anyone ever had to do was give a soldier a dirty look to end up there. No trial, no charges.

Then, why aren't they sent back to their homelands?

some folks don't care about the law, let's hope they never go overseas and get their butts in trouble and have that contry feel the same way about them. Of course I am sure some of the people in other countries would think the same way.

The heck with the law, let the mob have them. Hey let's go back to the stone age....

 If they dont get trials then they are innocent according to the law. There have been reports of innocent people being kidnapped from their countries and being tortured in American dungeons like Gitmo. Undoubtably many of these people are innocent.flowerforyou

Considering mainly that if they were held at GB and were never charged with anything, they are probably being wrongly detained. It is no biggie.

Of course they might be rightly pissed off after being tortured and detained when they were innocent and that might pose a problem.

Lots of them have been wrongly detained anyway. Its should be the duty of the US to resettle them. I think its disgusting that anyone should be held like that without trial, and if you end up with terrorists walking the streets because of it, its your own problem.
