Russian Scholar Says Obama Will Declare Martial Law

Associated Press
March 4, 2009

MOSCOW — If you’re inclined to believe Igor Panarin, and the Kremlin wouldn’t mind if you did, then President Barack Obama will order martial law this year, the U.S. will split into six rump-states before 2011, and Russia and China will become the backbones of a new world order.

Panarin might be easy to ignore but for the fact that he is a dean at the Foreign Ministry’s school for future diplomats and a regular on Russia’s state-guided TV channels. And his predictions fit into the anti-American story line of the Kremlin leadership.

“There is a high probability that the collapse of the United States will occur by 2010,” Panarin told dozens of students, professors and diplomats Tuesday at the Diplomatic Academy — a lecture the ministry pointedly invited The Associated Press and other foreign media to attend.

The prediction from Panarin, a former spokesman for Russia’s Federal Space Agency and reportedly an ex-KGB analyst, meshes with the negative view of the U.S. that has been flowing from the Kremlin in recent years, in particular from Vladimir Putin.

Putin, the former president who is now prime minister, has likened the United States to Nazi Germany’s Third Reich and blames Washington for the global financial crisis that has pounded the Russian economy.

Panarin didn’t give many specifics on what underlies his analysis, mostly citing newspapers, magazines and other open sources.

He also noted he had been predicting the demise of the world’s wealthiest country for more than a decade now.

Whether you believe him or not, the signs pretty much predict the same thing. Russia, China? I doubt that part of it. I think more along the lines of a globalist union with the USA and UK at the head, bullies, beating up everyone on the playground and taking their lunch money.

Reminds me of a movie called "Vendetta"

Where in England they had Martial Law and the US had a civil war.

It is just a comic book made into a movie. No worriesdrinker

An ounce of prevention is always better than a pound of cure!

Like smoking till you get cancer and quitting when it's already too late.

Great Movie! It had just enough seeds of truth to make it plausible; at least the parts not dealing with germ warfare.

The danger the US faces is mostly one of money. No country in history has outspent it's treasury and survived. Interest rates are low. If interest rates rise (and they always do), a much larger percentage of the US budget goes to pay interest on the national debt leaving less for services. Folks, we are looking at a very large slice of the pie.

In my opinion, the signs are like Susan Boyle on Britains Got Talent...... we're in for a surprize, one can only hope it's a good one, but that is not what is indicated by ANY news source!

Signs;
Decreases in production Jobs.
More Corps opting to relocate out of Country.
Flooding the country with HB Visas and Illegals, diluting the already stressed work force.
Major firings and layoffs.
Does it have to be knocking on your door for you to acknowledge them?

If this was something known and decided, then this dude would be long dead, because he had opened his mouth.

But, it is not hard to see why would one predict the demise described.

As Russian, he surely does know the deadly consequences of socialism, on his own experience. So, from this point of view, it is an easy guess, even though it might be unfathomable to an average Welfare American with "can spell and proud of Universal Suffrage" education.

There are other things to see, such as the election of the dumbest pres in American history, and, at the same time, an existence of widespread support for that president.

Have you decided this just now, or when you spoke for the prohibition of drugs?

You seemed to be sure that people will become drug users if drugs were made legal, even though I have made an example of myself for you, showing how I didn't and don't use any drugs, even though they all available.

So, you were basing your conviction on a known chain of cause-consequences. In the same way, there is a known chain of cause-consequences that have to do with how socialist states develop and self-destruct.

I can imagine. There was another Russian who said that parts of the United States will be in the end owned by other countries, because the US will never be able to pay back its debt.

His prediction was in only 20 years!

How much merit his reasons are is for each to decide. I would assume a professional economist would know for I am not one.

It just seems inevitable that humans will find a way to destroy themselves anyway, but don't mind my negative words, it is the media's fault that I blame. It seems everywhere you look there is negative information all the time.

I need to try to focus on the positive more, no matter how hard it is at times.

Thanks for your wisdom. drinker

If came down to it, the U.S. would fall to China. China would only need to declare economic war on the U.S. and we would fall without much of a fight. Russia has been moving steadily back towards communism since Putin came into power. A communist alliance with Russia would be good way a taking that final step backwards. Siding with them would be Cuba, Syria, Iran, North Korea. I would be surprised if they couldn't form a at least short term alliance with Al Qaeda.
