Muy Bueno amigos, but I am looking for a CD/Tape system to learn Russian. rosetta stone is expensive, but i've tried the demo and it works pretty well. there are some other ones on the internet that you can buy that use a relationship method. the only example i can think of was the russian word for cow is Karova. which sounds like car over. so you picture a car driving over a cow. Karova. something like that. it all depends on how much you want to spend. . . . |

Any one here ever use a CD or Tapes to learn a language? Which one did you use? Was it any good? no but i need to learn Spanish so i can understand what all these Mexican chicks are saying after they slap me |

definitions someone who speaks several languages: a polyglot someone who speaks two languages: bilingual someone who only speaks one language: an american I speak 3 , where do i stand?

My language teacher recommended Rosetta Stone, it's expensive though. I started learning Russian too. lol It's always for a girl.
I also recommend "Dermo! The Real Russian Tostoy Never Used" by Edward Topol, it's a great book. Good for the stuff pimsleur, berlitz and even rosetta stone can't teach you. Things such as "Zagloti s yaichkami!" you'll never know without that book. |

I say WEBCAM and total immersion!
Write all your webcam sessions off as a business expense in foreign language education! Your new vocabulary might be kind of limited though.

Well... I'd date Prncs. I don't need to resort to questionable ladies from some Eastern-Block countries.
And yeah- Rosetta Stone is supposedly pretty good with the language-learning stuff. I know some friends who have some of their DVDs, and they swear it's the cat's pajamas.

not necessarily true. the one i liked came on to me first; while i had a girlfriend. I had my american girl and broke up with her to go out with a russian. she never tried to use me, like some use guys to get green cards or w/e, she wanted a real relationship. we still talk a lot and she's coming back in May to visit. |
