Now that better weather is on the way...who out there likes to go swimming? Are there some bodies of water that you refuse to go into?

Nothing around here that can eat me, but i'm not swimming in a snake infested pond!

I love to swim... I do laps as part of my weekly training... I would rather be swimming at a lake or quarry with some friends and a cook out...
I don't like to swim in polluted water to state the obvious.. |

Love to swim, only water I will not go in is if it is nasty looking other wise I'm game have swam in ponds, creeks ect as long as it does not look like it will hurt me I'll be the first one in.

if I wanna go swimming it's a 2 hour drive. but here is where I would go

I hear ya' Gypsy! That's why I refuse to go to a public pool! Ever see the mothers put their babies (wearing DIAPERS) in the pool! It's utterly revolting! Then the diapers blow up & spew feces & urine everywhere...NO SPANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! |

There are things there that eat people Have been to Burgers lake many of time matter of fact it is more of a big azz man made pond actually and you will not hardly find a leaf on the ground they actually hire kids in the summer to go around and pick up anything that moves all day long. They have volley ball, tables, grills, slides, swings and all cost is around $10 -$15 a person I think now. But as far as clean can't get no better and yes the water is filtered as well. Now see if you two stay in Fort Worth very long or and extra day that would be a great place to take papersmile as well sure she would love it!! Hey great place for our meet as well don't need no beer for there it is off limits for any liquor just a day of fun... |

Honestly I do not swim in public pools not since I was around 12 caught Scarlet Fever at the public pool when I was a kid so for me forget it. |

There's a nuclear reactor about 20 miles south of me. You'll never catch me swimming in the retention pond there.

Burgers lake is loads of fun for the kids too

So, TxsGal...do you have any info on Joe Pool Lake? How's the camping? Are they strict on partying? not sure but can find out matter of fact my bosses parent's have a place on Joe Pool Lake at one time his family owned that land before it became Joe Pool lake yeah another man made lake as well

There is a pool at the gym I (sometimes) go to it's in the Hilton hotel, dead of winter swimming can still be enjoyed as well as a jacuzzi

I lived in New Jersey a while. Beautiful town of Lincoln Park right on the scenic Passaic river. Scenic...but poison.
 NO living things whatsoever in it. If I dropped a satchel of money in there, I just lost it cause I'd never think of getting in there.
