We know Pakistan has nukes and no one in the world (outisde of al-Quaeda) wants the Tliban/a;-Qaeda to get their hands on them. How much longer will the rest of the wait to take action to make sure Pakistan does not fall under the control of the Taliban? At what point would military intervention be necessary? If we wait too long it will too late. What can we do? At some point if things continue as they have, the world will need to take military action against the Taliban in Pakistan. Timing! If done too soon we risk angering the world and the Pakistan Gov. Taking a chance of making the latter Allie with the Taliban and Al Qaeda! The first step would be to try to get Pakistan to allow us insert troops into their country to help them defeat the Tliban, but failing that when the situation becomes imminent we need bypass the current government to prevent it's overthrow. Hopefully we will have more allies than Iraq, but I guarantee the UN will be no help. In all likelihood it would be a NATO led force. |

IMO,
We alieviate the pressure felt by the Pakistani Gov by doing more search and destroy missions across the border from Afghanistan! |

IMO, We alieviate the pressure felt by the Pakistani Gov by doing more search and destroy missions across the border from Afghanistan! Maybe we could send in some Delta or Ranger forces for some covert ops. The aerial bombing seems to causing much resentment against us. |

Ditch anything that could define you as an American soldier. Move only at night, and when coming to the objective, eliminate everyone (KILL EVERYONE) and destroy all equipment and supplies! Then leave the same way you came. |

LMAO What Bush did in Iraq has nothing to do with the real war against our enemies in the Afghanistan region. I have never said Afghanistan was an illegal war nor is what I am proposing similar to what happened in Iraq! I think your Republicanism is blinding you to reality! |

You are proposing to do something not approved by the United Nations and that was your argument against Bush on Iraq. You don't have a clue where Bin Laden is and yet you want under Obama covert action in Pakistan. At least there were UN resolutions that Iraq was in clear violations of. |

It's your thread. If you wish to side-line the OP with politics I wont object, but again you are wrong.
I have never advocated the UN when considering our actions taken in regard to our foreign policy! Bush violated the principles and morals of America when for the first time in our history he invaded another country without provocation! You are the one who tried to defend his actions based upon UN resolutions. I merely stated that the UN never recognized his right to invade and that was confirmed by the absence of a coalition of the willing. The real enemy was always in Afghanistan and Pakistan, as I have always said. Bush just ignored and used them as an excuse for his own personal objective. |

You just based it on the UN by saying - "I merely stated that the UN never recognized his right to invade" Once again, you can't have it both ways. |
