I broke the Cardinal Rule a few years ago.....I dated a guy at work.... ....Well, the way he ended it hit me pretty hard but I got over it and we talk sometimes. We figured we should be adults because we have mutual friends and I love his kids.

Well one of our mutual friends asked me today if I heard from him lately and I said no. Well she looks at me and says "He wanted me to tell you, he is getting married at the end of June."

When I sent him a text asking if he had something he had to tell me, he more or less acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I saw him before I left and asked him again......he just sat there and kind of stuttered an answer "It just happened....."

Did he expect me to freak out and beg him not too???? I mean I have a wonderful man and have my life in front of me, not five years in the past.

I wished him well and offered him congrats and let it go.......I think it shocked him.

(I deleted what I REALLY wanted to say...LOL)

And they all lived happily ever after drama free- THE END.

I just sat there laughing over thoughts in my mind of what I should do, just to see him run in fear.......but I would have been laughing so hard I would have had a bronchial attack....

Crash his wedding & make a huge scene

I just don't understand why some people have a hard time understanding that there are couples who have broken up and can actually be mature adults and remain friends with out the romantic feelings being involved.

And it almost sounds to me like he was thinking along the lines that he didn't want to break your heart by telling you that news and by you reacting the way you did, he was like, "What? It didn't break your heart? I DON'T GET IT!" So much for maturity, lol.!

I had a couple of work relationships. NOT the way to go. They are still hung up and I have moved on. So glad I am past that.

I have been tempted a time or two. But, I have seen a couple that really nasty. So, I stay away from those.

I have too, but I have always stuck to my rule about no dating co-workers. Just not worth the hassle!

But then again, we've all done a big in our lives at some point in time that after it's all said and done we say : WHAT WAS I THINKING?!!

You mean I am not the only one to do that?
