I walked in a restaurant and they guy was taking old already cooked fries and re-deep frying them to heat and serve them. I asked for fresh fries and he rolled his eyes at me and said they were coming. So I stood there and watched waiting for my order he started taking other peoples orders and there money then handling the food without washing his hands. He was scooping the fries with his hands onto the plates. His hands were all over the burgers as well. I went to him. You did not just seriously handle peoples money then handle my food did you? He got pissed off gave me my money back, and I left and said you can bet that I will be calling the health board on Monday. A customer looked at me and said WOW picky arn't you? When it comes to my food YES I am!

Was I in the wrong here?

I don't think I would be going back there anytime this lifetime...

Having worked as a trouble shooter for a restaurant chain...you did the right thing, and be sure to not let this go, without reporting it.

again... that's just nasty. I flipped out on a restaurant manager once... at a Golden Corral. He was using his bare hands to make up all the salad stuff. Then he would wipe his hands on his nasty apron, then wiped the sweat off his head, then went back to chopping the lettuce yea... we had words.

Hahahaha...gawd you make me sick! But it IS true! A lot of restaraunt workers do NOT wash their hands or use gloves...just think about their bathroom habits...

This is not the first time this week that this has happen either. I went into a coffee shop and was almost ran into by a girl who was bring the garbage out the front door. I continued to walk in and she comes back and asks me how she could help me. I said first you can start by washing your hands. She rinses them under water, no soap, and then comes back and asks me how she can help me. I am like you can use soap and use the proper hand washing procedure. I work in a coffee shop. It takes 15 seconds to properly wash your hands. With warm soapy water. I did not get my coffee that day.


I mean what the hell! It is the food industry. Take proper precautions or get out!

I remember a guy that used to own a hot dog shop.Well he had the hair of a gorilla on his arms.Well he would line up 8 hot dog buns along his forearm & start forking the works onto them.That's disgusting K.

I've had people handle money and then touch my food. They look at me like I'm nuts when I comment on it and ask for different food.

My father has had it happen before too. He went home and called the manager about it. He won't go to that place again and he let them know that.

That's exactly how sicknesses and all sorts of crap spread. Cooking AT MY OWN HOUSE tonight, you wouldn't believe how many different times I washed my hands. If you handle something, before you mix the raw steak hands into the salad, you WASH them.

I've seen that before too. I've also seen them sweep the floor and throw the trash away and then come back to the table with a glass of water and food for the table. Don't touch my food or plate after doing that!

I know that memory will stay with me for life.U had to see this piece of work in action to really appreciate how obnoxious it truly was.The bizarre part of it also was the pride that he took in this"trick of the trade"if U will.That's beyond appalling 4 real.To my knowledge he was never cited with any health code violations as far as I know.
